Venison Recipes

Venison Barbeque

1 lg onion; sliced
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup vinegar
3/4 cup ketchup
1 1/2 cups water
1 Tblsp Worshestershire Sauce

1 1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp celery salt
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cold water
3 Tblsp cornstarch

Cook venison and onion in crockpot until tender. Remove meat and
shread. Mix remaining ingredients except cold water and cornstarch
into meat drippings in crockpot. Replace meat and simmer for 15-20
minutes. Thicken with cold water mixed with corstarch and serve on buns.

Hot Shredded Venison

2 lb venison or beef roast
2 cups water
1 pkg Pillsbury brown gravy mix

1 beef boullion cube
1 lg onion; sliced
buns or rolls

Cook venison and onion in crock pot until tender; remove meat and
shread. Add gravy mix, boullion cube and water to meat
drippings. Replace meat.Simmer 1-2 hours; thicken with flour and
water. Serve on buns.

Venison Stew

1 lg onion; sliced
2 lb venison roast
2 lb carrots; cut into sticks
2 lbs potatoes; cut-up

1 pkg Pillsbury brown gravy mix
1 beef boullion cube
2 cups water

Cook venison and onion in crock pot until tender; remove meat and
cut into chunks. Add gravy mix, boullion cube and water to
drippings. Return meat to crock pot and add carrots and
potatoes. When vegetables are tender thicken with flour and
water. Simmer stew on low 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

Venison Barley Soup

1 lb venison loin
1 sm onion; chopped
Morton's Seasoning
2 cups water
4-5 cups water
5 beef bouillon cubes

1/4 tsp celery salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp basil
1/4 tsp oregano
2 carrots; cut-up
1/3 cup barley

Sprinkle venison with Morton's Seasoning; add onion and 2 cups
water and cook in crock pot on medium until meat is almost done.
Remove meat and cut into pieces. Return to crock pot and add
remaining ingredients. Cook on medium-high until carrots are
tender and barley is done.

Quarter Cup Venison Loin

Venison tender loin
salt and pepper
1/2 lb bacon
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup cooking oil

1/4 cup cooking wine or water
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
3 Tblsp Worchestershire Sauce

Cut loin strips about 6 inches long and 1 1/2 inches diameter.
Salt and pepper strips. Wrap one slice bacon around each strip.
Mix remaining ingredients for marinade. Layer strips in shallow
baking pan and pour marinade over top. Cover with plastic wrap
and refrigerate overnight. Remove meat from marinade and broil
in oven 8-10 minutes. Turn strips over and broil 8-10
minutes more. *Marinade makes enough for about 10 strips of
loin. Also great done on the grill.

Crock Pot Stroganoff

2 lbs venison; cubed
2 small onions; chopped
2 cloves garlic
2 tsp salt
2 small cans mushrooms
Noodles

1/4 tsp pepper
1 beef bouillon cube
1 Tblsp Worcestershire sauce
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1-8 oz pkg cream cheese

Brown meat and add all ingredients into crock pot except cream
cheese. Cook until done. Add cream cheese just before serving.
Serve over hot, cooked noodles.
