British Columbia 2002
the adventure continues...
Tom, Paul and I arrived in Fort St.John on Thursday night, September 26th. We drove to our hotel and got settled in for the night. It had been a long day of flying and sitting in the 3 different airports so we crashed in anticipation of being up bright and early.
Friday morning we visited the Chamber of Commerce and got some maps of the area and some information on the local scene. We met with the banker and then stopped to see the realtor. We had picked out a couple houses with land last time we were up that we wanted to see so we set a time to do that on saturday. We headed out to the hunting lodge about 11am. We made plans to check out some of the territory right away that afternoon and evening. I think Tom was pretty well hooked right away like Paul & I had been on the last trip.
Saturday we looked at the potential properties for a house, hunting lodge, etc. There were two places that had possibilities, however they weren't "perfect" or anything that just jumped out at us. We knew we didnt have to decide on this part of things just yet so we decided we would think on it for a bit. We spent the rest of Saturday and Sunday checking out more of the territory and talking about our options of purchasing with the owner. Here are some of the pictures from "the bush" and so on...

Monday morning we headed back to Fort St. John to go to the airport. On the way out of town Paul and Tom decided we should stop at the new Honda dealership and price four wheelers compared to back home. The guys there asked what we were doing up in that area so we told then we were buying a hunting territory and looking for a place to live. The mechanic made a comment to us asking if we had found any land yet. We said no, but did he have some and he said yes he did. It was close by so we went and looked at it. It was "perfect"! A beautiful 200 acres of wooded property on rolling hills at the base of a big mountain. It was such a fluke thing, I guess God works in mysterious ways! So along with the purchase of the territory we are also working on the purchase of this land on which to build our house and the hunting lodge.
