Due to the large amount of graphics

I have been asked many times
"What do you do for a living"?
Well here I am with my team members in training for the job we do.
I hope you like what I have put together for you.
The pictures here were taken while on training At Washington Hall.. County Fire Brigades Training depot and in no way represent any fire in my work area.

The Flange Fire

The Fire officers are protected by a spray of water

The officers push the flame back with the water to allow a "valve man" to turn off the valve
"NOTE" how the flames vortex towards the fire officers and should they break that seal of water with any part of there body or equipment
THE Flames will be on them!!

The Valve is switched off and the fire extingished, the area of pipework is cooled.

BUT WHAT IF???

"Plant Fire"

The flange fire starts very small but with liquid spilling out under pressure it quickly spreads to other areas.

The fire first has to be put out on the ground floor
before fire officers can fight the fires on the upper floors

More pictures can be seen here
taken in April 2000

REMEMBER : "Fire kills"!!! should you be in a place where there is a fire.
GET out.. STAY out..Call the Fire brigade out
and do not enter the building again for ANYTHING!! !!

I dedicate this page
TO ALL
Emergency Personnel
Who risk there lives to save that of an other!!
(Thank-you)
