In the original Japanese first episode, Sakura accidently opens a magic book in her father's library, called The CLOW (said like 'glow'), and the magic cards contained within escape and fly out into the twilight. The guardian of the book, a small flying cat-like creature calling himself Keruberosu, scolds Sakura in an Osaka accent, for letting the cards escape.
Keruberosu, whom Sakura quickly nicknames Kero-chan (Keh-ro-chahn), decides that Sakura's duty is to retrieve these magic cards, gives her a magic wand, and calls her the one and only card captor, Card Captor Sakura. Kero-chan tells her that the cards were created by the magic of the powerful sorceror Clow Reed, many years earlier in China. The cards often take human-like form, representations of the mystical elements such as lightning, water, fire, etc.
Although Sakura is at first reluctant to take the job, she slowly changes her mind as she sees the destruction the cards can cause. She lets her friend Tomoyo-chan in on the secret, and subsequently on each battle with a card, the enthusiastic Tomoyo-chan both sews elaborate outfits for Sakura, and video tapes the event for posterity!
Episode 8 introduces Li Shaoran, a boy in Sakura's class. Because Li-kun is a descendant of Clow Reed, he is also trying to collect the cards, so he appears to be Sakura's rival. And with Li-kun having a crush on Yukito-san as well, this adds another layer to the story. Later, Li-kun and Sakura-chan work side by side, and Li Meiling, Li-kun's cousin, also joins the group.

THE CASTS IN THE ANIMATION:

Kinomoto Fujitaka:
Kinomoto Fujitaka is Sakura and Touya's father, and he teaches at an university. His birthday is January 3.
Looks like an unbelievable perfect guy, not to mention father heee! He knows how to make all kinds of snacks and seems to make them all the time, wonders where he gets the time since he is a lecturer? But anyway cartoon mahz..hee anything impossible also becomes possible..

Kinomoto Nadeshiko:
Kinomoto Nadeshiko was Sakura and Touya's mother. She died when Sakura was 3 (Nadeshiko was 27). Her birthday was May 20. She was a model since junior high, and was very pretty. She married Fujitaka (her teacher) when she was 16 (he was 25).
She always has this smile on her face like her husband..and it seems to me that she is always smiling throughout, even when she fell down (?!), a blurblock and always trip over something all the time! But she only appears in a few episodes.

Kinomoto Touya:
Kinomoto Touya is a second year student in Seijou High School . His birthday is February 29. He has this ability of seeing things others can't see. Touya calls Sakura "kaijuu" (monster), on the surface he enjoys irritating Sakura but actually he is very protective of his little sister.
My favourite character of the show! Haha..understandable rite?..cos he is drawn so cute and he is just way cool in the show, stylo mylo! ;Þ He is good friend with Yukito, whom i find kind of girlish..hee cos he always has this grin on his face. (cannot take it X_x) There seems to be something going on between Yukito and Touya cos both of them don't have galfriends, yet both are very popular in school. Funny huh! Oh yah i made a few sketches of Touya ..hee..more like trace one lahz.. but they are now my prized possession!! Touya does care for his sis alot..*envious*.. wish i have a big bro like him :Þ!

Kinomoto Sakura is a 4th grader in Tomoeda Shougakkou . Her birthday is April 1.
10 years-old Sakura likes gym and music class, and she hates math. She is on the cheerleading club. Sakura always roller-blades to school, usually following her older brother who rides his bike with *ahem* Yukito. Besides her older brother(Touya), she lives with her father(Fujitaka). Her mother(Natasha) died when she was 3 years old.
A very adorable character, who seems to be very active and talented in many areas. Loggerheads with Li Shaoran cos they both had a crush on the same person, Yukito. (Yukito has only one gender though..?!) Anyway most probably becos Yukito is very nice to everyone. Sakura's best pal is Tomoyo whose mother is cousin of Sakura's mother.. and kero whom no one else except Tomoyo knows abt it.

Kero:
Kerberos is a flying and speaking winged bear "doll", who speaks in Osaka-ben. But actually he was the guardian of the clow cards. This is not his "true" form, as he doesn't currently have enough power to go into his true form.
Likes sweet stuff alot esp desserts and chocolates..no one knows its existence as it appears to be one of the "dolls" in Sakura's room except for Tomoyo. He guides Sakura in finding all the magic cards which belong to the "Clow". Loggerheads with Li Shaoran.

Li Shaoran:
Li Shaoran is a transfer student from Hong Kong, who came to Sakura's school in December. His birthday is July 13.
Initially, he does not believe Sakura's ability in collecting all the magic cards..many a time he had to intervene in rescuing the situation. Loggerheads with Sakura it seems, but he is actually quite a nice guy as he helps Sakura many a times when she cannot handle the situation. There are certainly "sparks" between the 2 of them which adds an interesting touch to the story. The story got even more interesting esp when his cousin, Li Meiling appears hehe! I read quite a few fanfics that wrote about the romance between Sakura and Li Shaoran, kinda interesting. I must say those who wrote them, really have a great flair for writing.

Daidouji Tomoyo:
Daidouji Tomoyo is a 4th grader in Tomoeda Shougakkou . She is Sakura's best friend, and she "loves" Sakura. Her birthday is September 3.
She loves to video-cam Sakura in action and she will watch them over and over again...and she enjoys making attires for Sakura to wear while collecting the Clow Cards. Weird huh..she seems to like Sakura more than a friend..eee.. haha..i do not know the story outcome yet..so i dunno what will happen to Tomoyo and Sakura.. (i am sure they are just friends lahz..erm rite?)

Tsukishiro Yukito:
Tsukishiro Yukito is a classmate of Touya. His birthday is December 25. Yukito wasn't in any club, but he helped out the archery club by participating in matches. He likes math. Yukito loves to eat, and he eats a lot, very quickly.
Sakura and Li Shaoran both have a crush on him! Yiks! And considering Li Shaoran is a GUY..double Yiks! He eats alot and super fast haha it is very comical to watch him eat...cos he eats with that stupid smile on his face..duhz! Hangs out alot with Touya..mmm..fishy.. Seen him in one episode playing basketball..seems real professional. I think there is a feminine side of him..haha..erm well i just feel that way. Ok frenz lahz butz..u knowz...O_o By the way his hair is grey in the show..dunno why is it brown here..

Well these are only some characters of the show..there are more but i just put up the main leads. I have been sketching some pics of Touya and Sakura, hoping to draw (or trace..hee) more.
