Flame of Recca Flame of Recca -- Anzai Nobuyuki --

Welcome to my "Flame of Recca" page. Wonder if you peeps have any idea about this japanese animation/cartoon? It had just ended on channel U, only 42 episodes but i find the ending was quite abrupt and i think there is a continuation to it. (Hopefully it will be shown on TV too!) Will be adding more pics. Feel like doing another page on one of my fav character, kurei too but that have to be later. Anyway, i shall briefly introduce the story to you. :)

The Story

Well, it began with a ninja generation where there was this leader of Hokage Ninja, Ohka. He was a flame master and was well-respected then. Then came along a battle that he lost and died. The ninja weapons, supposedly powerful over 100 of them was then lost. He had two wife, Kagero (the good one) and Reina (the bad one). Both of them bore two sons and either of them will be the next leader. Reina was eager to let his son to be the chosen one and she sorta influenced his son to think that Kagero and his son, Kurei caused their mishap of being despised and rejected. Hence kurei hated them. Kurei was borned with an evil force hence that's why he was not chosen. But both him and his brother, Recca, have the flame power.

Due to the lost battle and almost everyone was killed, Kagero had to save his son, she had no choice to use the magical power to send his son to the future, which will immortalise her. Kurei was accidentally brought into the future too. And so the story carries on to the next generation when Kurei and Recca met and Kagero finally found her lost long son, Recca. Kurei was adopted by an evil powerful man, Mori Kouran. And Recca was adopted by a carpenter (Didi i get that right?). Ultimately there was a fierce battle between the two brothers, but it eventually came to the extent when they joined forces against the really ultimate bad guy, Mori. (really weird-looking person)

Of course there are more to the story, but i can't possibly go on telling the whole story, I can easily write an essay alry. There are a number of webpage on Flame of Recca, but not too many. I must say this animation is really underexposed and it is kind of a waste to have so little links on them cos it is quite an interesting animation. Anyway, if you are interested you can go surf them. Cool animation! :)

Character Profiles

Hanabishi Recca The Lead of the Show. Crazy abt every details regarding Ninja skills, weapons, histories and clothes since young. Happy-Go-Lucky and talented young man, who wanted very much to be a ninja. Son of Ohka and Kagero. He only found out about his real identity when he met his mother who became the Shadow master. It was then he realised his hidden flame power within him. He had the power of one of the five elements, Fire. And he had to conquer the 8 Flame Dragons before he can become powerful. The 8 dragons are Madoka, Rui, Koku, Setsuna, Nadare, Homura, Saiha and Resshin (The spirit of his father and the most powerful of the 8, there is a link with the pics of these dragons :)). He was challenged and fought against his brother, Kurei in the ultimate battle.

Hanabishi Kurei The villian ot the show, with devilish mystical charm (my favourite of the show :)~~~ muahaha..). Had the exceptional power of flame too, but a different kind, the phoneix blue flame. Wears a mask initially to hide his scar across his left eye. Very powerful skills he had. Equally good or sometimes i think much better than Recca. He had also recruited an army of skillful fighters. Well, he was 4 yrs older than recca that makes him 20. He was found by Mori Tsukino, a kindly woman married to an underworld boss, Mori Kougan who trained him to be unfeeling and filled him with hatred. (oh my god..He looked like touya! *faints*) Though he always exudes a cold attitude, he actually has feelings too. Well he was in love with a gal from his army of fighters. But sad ending though. (Aww.. :()

Sakoshita Yanagi She has a special gift of healing that's why when Mori Kougan found out, he ordered Kurei to send his troops after her. The "Princess" of Recca, who is willing to sacrifice for her. (Her knight ah? Haa... no.. Her Ninja..) It seems that there are so many guys who wanna protect her. First, there is Recca, then there is Tokiya (because she reminds him of her dead sister) and then there is Kaoru (because she is pretty..haha so dumb cos he is only a small kid)

Mikagami Tokiya Has the power of one of the five elements, Water, a sword. (This really reminds me of captain planet...) Another cool-looking guy (mm..looks like Yue from Sakura Cardcaptor). Always show this cool nonchalant attitude. Like i said, wanted to protect Yanagi because she resembles her deceased sister. Had a fight with Recca when they first met because of her as he believed Recca does not have the capabilty to protect Yanagi. Loggerheads with Recaa all the time.

Kirisawa Fuuko Has the power of Wind. (See i told you, captain planet mahz...Hee) Her name in chinese is really funny, "feng zi"! In fact, all of their names includes the element character. Good friend of Recca. She likes Recca initially, was quite angry and jealous seeing Recca acting silly in front of Yanagi but well she knows that Recca likes Yanagi only and so she didn't intrude into their relationship.

Isijima Doumo Hunk? ;p Big-sized beefy lahz.. Hee! Has the power of earth, a ring on his nose. Comical character. Good friend of Recca. Loyal though not as powerful as the rest. He kknos it but he does not give up and trains really hard. Seems to like Fuuko. Perverted-looking face anyway aha :P

Koganei Kaoru He has the power of gold, has a golden weapon which can be transformed into many kinds of blade. Though much younger than the rest, he still proved to be a very powerful versatile fighter. Initially belonged to kurei's team hence was invloved in the abduction of Yanagi. But later upon realising that Kurei doesn't have a good intention, aiming to kill, he switched to help Recca. Fanged grin hee.. Kawaii. Was invited to join the Uruha tournament by Kurei, cos Kurei wanted to eliminate him, regarding him as a betrayal of the army.

Ganko-san Doll-like petite little gal. Has the power of transformation, always hanging around a cat. Hasn't seen her fight or the cat fight.

Neon/Kurenai Actually i am not quite sure which is her name cos i missed a number of episodes. Kurenai was supposedly Kurei's gal. Although Mori Kouran had trained Kurei to be unfeeling, she was able to break through the ice within Kurei and Kurei fell in love with her (So nice :)). Because of this weakness, Mori Kouran detonated her bomb which had been previously implanted inside her. (That Idiot!) Kurei was devastated, he fulfilled her wish to make her as part of his flame. (GeeZ.. that's really sad and double geeZ cos I missed that episode!)
Mori Kouran The really evil idiotic crossed-eyed guy, haha! Mori Kouran is a powerful underworld leader. Though married to Tsukino (which is the lady who found Kurei), he only cares about his money, his power, and keeping them forever. That's why he pursue immortality. Kurei was adopted by his wife, but Mori Kouran turned him into his own killing machine. It was Mori Kouran who played a very large part in making Kurei the cold, unfeeling, and the powerful villain he became.
Hanabishi Ohka Ohka was the leader of the Hokage Ninja, father to both Kurei and Recca. He was a Flame Master who died and was unable to protect his loved ones, and consequently he became Resshin, the leader of the Ryu (Flame Dragons). However, he never permanently lent his powers to either Recca or Kurei.
Reina Reina was Kurei's mother. She was an arrogant, proud woman who was willing to take advantage of the fact that her son would be the next leader of the Hokage. Because of this, the other women of the clan had little respect for her. However, she truly loved her son, and was willing to have Recca killed to ensure Kurei's future.

Kagero Houshi Kagero was Ohka's wife, after Reina. Mother of Recca. Kurei and Reina hated her because Kurei was not chosen to be the next leader, even though it was because of her pleas that Kurei's life was spared. The people of the Hokage wanted to kill Kurei as they sensed the hidden evil force within Kurei. Kagero sent Recca an Kurei (accidentally) into the future with her time-manipulation skills which is a forbidden skill.
