*DENOTES ROUND DANCE NIGHT ............................... ++ Club meeting at 6pm

Spring has gone and summer is here; which means it’s time for hot weather activities such as
watermelon feasts, ice cream suppers, picnics, etc. Most of us will be taking some vacation
time so our attendance at dances may suffer but hopefully we will have some out of town & even
out of state visit us while they are on vacation. We encourage all our members to look up & visit
clubs as they travel this summer. It’s great way to make new friends and experience different
callers.

Since our first dance in July falls the day after the traditional 4th of July celebration,
we plan to make that dance(5th of July) our club celebration. So lets dress in red, white, and
blue and as much as possible make our refreshments fit the theme of red, white, and blue also.
We are privileged to live in a great nation with freedoms that most countries only dream about.
Let’s remember our fore fathers and great leaders that have gone before us and led us to our
present good times. On July 12 we are planning an ice cream social so everybody get out your
ice cream freezer and crank up some home made ice cream. If you don’t have a freezer we will
need some cookies or cake to go with that ice cream.

By the time Tracey Dowell calls for us on July 26 he will have a son-in-law. Most of us can
give him lots of advice on how to be the best father-in-law ever. Be sure to talk to him and
help him out in his new role. We do wish the newly weds much happiness and success in their
marriage.

July 30 is the date for the Westerners meeting at the Wagon Wheel in Tye. Business meeting
is at 4:00 pm. Make your plans to attend and stay for the square dance that night with Tracey
Dowell calling.

The dance on August 2nd will be cancelled so that all who wish may go up to Abilene to
dance at the Wagon Wheel. The caller will be Ken Bower, a professional caller from California.
August is usually our hottest month so we plan to ”keep cool“ but still enjoy our dances. Our
dance hall at Station 618 is a great place and we can adjust that thermostat and “keep cool” so
come on out and enjoy good fellowship and great dancing.
See you ‘round the Square Melba Clement

There will be a Business Meeting on 5 July at 6:00.

Due to the sudden illness of the scheduled cuer at Fun Valley, Diane Slater was asked to cue
for the week of 5 June. Going with her to Fun Valley that week were: Teresa and C.R. Barbian,
Melba and Lew Clement, Carol and Bob Heiser. Everyone reported they had a great week and Diane
has been asked to cue again next year for that week! Great news! Make plans to get reservations!
President Pat.
