Time to tell you a little about myself!

I guess you've figured out by now, that I'm a philosopher and poet. I'm also an English Major, minoring in Anthropology. I'm 25 years old, and have been writing poetry for ten years now. My father is a science fiction writer, a member of SFFWA, so I grew up reading lots and lots of really good stuff nominated for the Nebula Award over the years. He collected comic books as a child, so I also grew up reading his old comic books from the 1940's. My mother is a musician and artist. My one and only younger brother, as of today, is about to graduate with a Bachelor's in Studio Art, having completed his thesis in sequential art, otherwise known as telling a story through comic book format. I have one grandmother I grew up with, who is living with my parents again, and another in Florida, running an orange grove there. I'm living on my own, though in the same town as my family. My brother used to live next door, but he moved a bit further across campus from me. I have lots of interests, and hope to share them here, in my first website. I was homeschooled as a kid, and earned my GED, so I got a graduation ceremony and tassel, and am looking forward to graduating college soon. We moved around a lot as I was growing up, so I've lived in Utah, Florida, California, Hawaii, and Texas. I currently reside in Texas, in the green, swampy region near Louisiana, where the oak trees are gorgeous. I love to think, talk, and listen, not necessarily in that order. Sometimes this gets me in trouble, as it seems like I have some neon sign on my forehead that says, "I CARE." I have been said to be a wierdness magnet. I seem to attract it. I have an empathic compassionate streak that, combined with my stubbornness and loyalty, keeps me from giving up on people when maybe I should. I am learning the word, "NO," and trying to be assertive in standing up for myself when I really should, for my health and sanity's sake. Update: Jan. 8, 2000 I'm now 26, about to turn 27 on the 15th of January. I'm still expanding this website, and right now am working on the Anime section. My brother has graduated, and I'm still plugging away at my English degree. I got Engaged April 15th, 1999, and my Fiance and I are planning our Wedding on May 19, 2000. On October 8, 1999, I got my first kitty since I was a toddler. She was 10 weeks old when I got her, and I named her Ember. She's grown very quickly, and discovered that there is a world outside the house. And that she's faster than a human hand when she darts out the door. We've been having many adventures together, and she likes to chase the cursor on the computer screen. She loves solitaire. I started this website in August of 1998, and have created several others since then as well. I enjoy making my own graphics and backgrounds now, creating pictures in photoshop, and am now learning how to use my new scanner.
