Greetings from the Revolution! The web site for Mind Rape magazine is undergoing a major overhaul. I did the first draft using the ultra-ghetto Ms Publisher. Now I’ve snagged Frontpage so I can get this stupid machine to make up for my artistic shortcomings (now if it could only make up for the other ones - heheheh). Most of the picture section is finished. The articles & reviews will be the next major clump to finish. After that – it’s just a matter of advertising (even the revolution needs to be sold) and polishing up the rough edges. This web page is designed exactly like the magazine. All the articles and art which are featured in the print version can be found on this website. Plus this site provides a more direct route of communication between you and the revolutionary headquarters of Mind Rape Magazine.

The second print issue of MindRape is in the works as we speak. It should hopefully be out sometime around the end of December or mid January. But, since the first issue took about 2 years to complete, the 2nd could be a little late as well. But whenever it comes out, you should be able to pick it up at any decent music / head shop around the GTA. Or, if you’re not in the Toronto area, mail us your address and we’ll send you a copy.

Something I’d like to start up through this web site would be a youth workers union. Most of us youth aren’t really able to afford to join a union ourselves, so we should unite and start a low cost union which will serve our interests. I, personally think that there is a great need for such an organization. Everyday the youth of Canada is being forced to work for less-than-minimum wages and being forced to work under poor conditions. Many youth workers are threatened with being fired each time they go to work. Some are forced to work extra unpaid hours simply to keep the hours that they will get paid for. Others are forced to pay for any mistakes which are made while they are at work (even if they did not make those mistakes). We must do something about this condition. I suggest we all organize and start our own union to defend our own rights. The cost could be something like $5 a paycheque or 2% of the total pay. Then, if any company is accused of employee abuse, we can organize boycott’s of that company and perhaps even small claims trials. In any case, it’s just a thought right now, but if anyone is seriously interested in helping me out with this then let’s do it. Mail me: mind_rape@excite.com.

Anyways, that’s it for now. Any further news will be posted up in the next communique.
