I’ve just been going over my entries for the last two years.  I like them.  However, it looks like I was really suffering all last year.  Well, I was.  Even the happier posts, I know the underlying feeling I had while writing them.

I say enough of that!  I’ve had lots of great experiences and there’s plenty of adventure around the corner for this girl yet! I’m still in school, but as soon as my youngest goes to school full time next year, I will finish up.  I’m still editing my 16 mm short, In the Doghouse.  It turned out nice and I’m proud of it.  Although, the day after I quit filming…I could have made a better film.  And now in post, every day I cringe at things I should have done.  But that just shows that I learned a lot.

I’m writing a screenplay.  I lack discipline though.  I got into act 2 and hit a wall.  So I’m re-writing the first.  Sort of taking another running leap at structure.  I love my screen play class.  I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

I went to San Diego for 5 days and spend most of it by myself with a rental car and a credit card.  I loved that place.  I loved being by myself.  I have rarely been alone in 20 years.  The ocean is a healing place.  I also had my first day spa treatment.  Boy hidy…I could get used to being rich!

Last weekend I got to take a directing for film and tv seminar from Robby Benson.  This was great.  He is like Dick Clark.  He never gets older!  I also think he is the nicest guy on the planet.  He has a quick mind for seeing how to re-block a scene or fix what needs fixing.  It was amazing.  I got to direct a scene I wrote and have him critique me.  It was a great learning experience.  When you don’t have the time, the actors or the set you want...you just have to make do with what you have on hand and crank out a good product.  It’s YOUR job! I got that message.

I’m just about ready to purchase a digital video cam and a Mac.  This will be the start of my little production company:  BLISSLEY PRODUCTIONS.  I have a wedding video and a small business video scheduled already.  Then I can do my little shorts whenever they HIT me.

Also Steph told me several of their employees quit at their video production company.  She’s already tried to put in a good word for me for some PA jobs, but now I am hoping to see if I could do an internship as editor.  Or be a PA…lots of Olympic stuff is coming up for next year.  Good time for the desperate to give me a try.  So maybe, just maybe, I’ll make money at this yet.  ;-)

I still do movies with Linda and Steph or I go by myself, which doesn’t bother me at all.  I’m trying to see everything I can that is nominated for an academy award.  I’ve seen SO many the last week.  LOL.  We discuss them afterwards and in my screen play class.  The whole process of making a film is interesting to me.

Now I got you all updated.  I can’t promise I won’t write sad stuff this year, but I will keep observing and writing what I see and know.  Here’s
