Keeping busy.  Existing. Hurting.

Worked on my first slasher movie.  It was in a saloon in a very small mining town.  It was a huge place with a huge wood bar and red velvet in the cabinets behind...very western looking.  This scene was a hallucination.  The bartender gets his throat slashed.  It was the first time I'd worked with latex and fake body parts (besides condoms and dildos...heh heh) It went well.  We had a huge crew and the actors were very good.

The bartender was a bouncer in real life.  He was fun and I got to talk to him most of the day since I helped with his cut throat and blood.  He had a dead pan look and a smoky voice.  He was perfect.  He looked the same when he was normal and when he was slashed. One of those guys with no emotion on the face...ever.

I keep thinking I ought to write something humorous about the day.  But maybe I can write humor next week.  We'll see.

Speaking of bouncers, I worked on my screenplay about Bill's life (Bill aka longhair...click here)  I guess it was on my mind.  I dreamed about him all night.  I either was struggling for structure for the screen play or I was helping him track down his motorcycle that someone one took.  Then later I was convincing him that I was not an informer for the cops and I was not doing this story so I could turn him.  I told him that today and he was amused.  He said he only had sex dreams about me.  LOL.  Okay so that made my day.  He knows I'm hurting.  He's a sweetheart. But I'm not supposed to tell anyone about his softer side...shhhhhh.

I had a pile of questions for character development.  This story is full of billiards, gambling, drugs, thugs, strippers, sex, money, violence, love cops on the take, bad tattoos, threats, fights, family, death, and resolution.  Very Martin Scorsese..only Canadian.  It's something to do anyway.

This isn't my usual kind of entry.  I just felt like writing.  I'll get back to writing my humorous looks at life people seem to  expect from me in a few weeks.  'Til then just bear with me.
