august 30 2003 2:00am>> Well we are finally on our way awww ya!!!!

august 30 2003 5:00am>> Well we should be in northern ontario right now, I fell asleep and woke up in a timmys lot in Barrie atta grrl amanda you would make a great trucker!!

@ept. 2 2003 4:50>> Hey Hey we made it to canmore Alberta I am sippin on a cold agd @ Justins house. (Thanks for the shower bro!!)Well we thought we would have more internet access, so here we go. We have a rattle, yes we do. So we slept at some canadian tires to find out wats up, the brakes are alright so we'll grin and bear it. The trip has been so good so far we are getting along and the weather has been great!! we leave for prince george bc tomorrow morn we will keep you updated!!!

September 5 2003?:30pm>> Liard hotsprings are sick its in the middle of no where!! basically its this huge hottub in the bush so good so good!!!!! ( everything is good cept for the dam hitch hiker)

September 6 2003 8:30pm>> Hey wats up we are here safely the rattle was the dam hub caps and yes we have seen bears 3 in fact a herd of wild buffalo and too many other weird flora and fauna to write down here!! Anyway things are good just workin on getting into the cabin (which is sweet by the way) In the meantime may have to spend my first week of school outta the truck!!! Who's idea was this anyways stay tuned!!! WE CONQUERED THE ALASKAN HIGHWAY!!!!!!!!!

September 7 2003 1:30pm>> Hey wats up!!! Whitehorse is pretty cool so far. Today we got rid of our mooching hitch hiker and have got into the cabin!! The road in is retarded, full on off roading. Its fall up here too. Look forward to starting school tomorrow!

Sept 13 2003 2:00am>> hey everyone! well, just to let you know, today we had snoW!!!!! up at our place (which is pretty high altitude) there was snow falling and STAYING on the ground. here in town it was just raining! crazy huh?? things are going well, chris is once again a boston pizza employee here in town thursdays-sundays, and me....well i have been searching all week, and no one wants me...:( chinook is still in heaven and happily diving into the lake at least once a day. well, take care and we'll keep you posted. send us warm thoughts! luv chris and amanda and nookerboo!!

Oct 14 2003 12:45>> Hey wats up everyone? Life is going  good up here. Sorry I havent posted anything in a while not much computering goin on. School is goin good alls I can say is POWER TOOLS!!! Yee haaa! I am workin part time at the boston pizza makin pies, as is amanda takin my pies out to the yukoners. She is also doing the supply teaching thing.

All the vehicles are banged up ,up here and there is a good reason for this, they are the worst drivers I have ever encountered. Give me 12 lanes of traffic anyday rather than drive with some of these people. They pay absolutely no attention to anything. As a matter of fact some dude ran into our truck as he ran a stop sign, we were the only two vehicles on the road practically, inflicting approx 3500$ worth of damage (no worries tho he was at fault and its being fixed and no one was hurt) to our truck. to which he replies why didnt u stop? Give your head a shake man! So for the next couple of days while Conrad the black (our truck) is being mended we are driving a neon, and are praying it doesn't snow or we'll be stuck in the hills. I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving, and thats all for now!!

interesting info: The population of the whole yukon is approx. 26,000

October 27 2003>> Made a decision today I like the Yukon . Its a beautiful place, yesterday we were in the clouds , they were so low we had to drive through them on our way into town. And wen we got home the sky was lit up a neon green with the northern lights pretty amazing. Still think the drivers here are terrible and have yet to find a chris  macdonald, but I am still looking. Chinook is in heaven with his new friend yakoun(spelled right?) and Amanda is happy as she works alot, and seems to have found some cool people to hang out with. thats all for now!! O ya there is snow at our cabin again!!

Nov 2 2003 12pm>> The whole city is in a cloud today so dreary. Weird cause at our place it was sunny we had to drive through a cloud again to get to town. Can't wait to get home where it is sunny!!! On the weekend we were invaded by 30 cross country skiiers (from the local club) on our lake I was a little tempted to go texas chainsaw on them. They set up races and were cheering (yelling) each other on. But Chinook barked at them, letting them know they were ruining our wilderness experience and my day off by being too loud ha ha!! -17 the other night winter is coming.

interesting fact: You can not order just a beer from an establishment unless they have rooms as part of the building. So to get a beer at boston pizza you have to order food and a beer weird eh?

Nov 17 2003>> Wats goin on life has settled in to a little bit of a routine up here, school work same old. Cold weather has arrived though, with temp between -10 to -25 or so lately. Good thing I have become a ninja with the wood stoves. I have kept the skiiers away from our little bay by building a skating rink. When they all show up I flood the rink and it makes the ice crack and moan I have never seen people ski so fast away from me!! Anyway I need everyones addresses so I can send christmas cards so e-mail them to me ASAP!!! Thats bout it 10-4!!

nov 28 2003>> Its cold up here!!!!!!!!!!!! Pipe burst the other day, and daylight only seems to last approx 5 hrs now. Gets light out at around 11, and dark by 5 pretty crazy whos idea was this anyway??

January 5 2004>> Yo Yo! Happy New years every one!! amanada and I spent new years at a friends place on the other side  of the valley( Robs place ). We brought in the New Year with a big bon fire and rye whiskey. They have a great little cabin on their property we would like to rent so we will see if that works out in the coming months. Smaller cabin means less wood choppin, that is good. Days are supose to be getting longer but today we get just over 5 hours of sun light. Also its like -30 somethin here today. As we have no electricity We take the battery outta the truck at night, and cover the front of the truck with tarps. In the morning we put a propane heater to help warm the engine for about an hour. It seems to work as morning starts have been running fairly smooth. I have begun to build a series of igloos, I gotta get some pictures scanned good times!! How are the igloos going you ask? lets just say its messin with my chi!!!!!

January 20 2004>> Hey wats up everyone, I GOT MY FIRST REAL ART SHOW!!!!! its the end of April and runs for 6 weeks into june. It takes place at the Midnight Sun Coffee House (Whitehorse Yukon). Which is kinda like a starbucks but more artsy and locally owned. So here is the deal I need a name for my art show. I am showing my ink drawings from up here and am contrasting them with my ink drawings I did in T dot. Either e-mail me your ideas or better yet post them in the guest book. Winner gets some prize to be determined later.!!!

Jan. 28 2004>> BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
RRRRR!!!!!!!!! Its been sub -40 here for the last couple of days and isn't suppose to let up for a few more. supposidely they haven't  had weather like this in over ten years!!(1991) Our truck hasn't started in the last few so we had to resort to getting a ride to town. And stay at a friends house for a few. As this is my last week of school, my government exam is on friday so I must try to attend classes and study my arse off. It sounds like most of Canada is in the same boat though. So we got to town last night and there is ice fog its this weird wet frozen mass of fog that just hangs out when its -40 its really still and well cold!!!!Whos idea was this anyway??????????????

Beginning of February 2004>> Truck is not wanting to start. So We went to Canadian Tire and got A tiger torch. (Its a propane torch that spits 280 000btus of heat) We covered the hood with tarps put old stove pipe under the truck. And fired up the torch into the pipe. And after an hour she was thawed and started!!!! Need a new starter though. I thought the Tiger torch was crazy too, but thats what they do up here if they do not have electricity.

Feb 11 2004>> Hello, well the cold snap ended and we are now into very mild weather (hovering around -5 to -8) Its a nice change from the -40 weather we were having. Its crazy but during the cold snap to the next week there was a difference of 50 degrees from the coldest to the warmest days. People were at the ski hill in t-shirts and it was like -5 out! Because after being in -40 weather -5 is balmy. Well I finished school and am working at the college casually building cabinets. Should be done by the end of the week then I will be pounding the pavement. I passed my territorial exam and Am hoping I can find someone to take me on as an apprentice but a job would be just as good! Amanda is well and Chinook is finally a dog as he appears to come when he is called. The cabin is pretty good needs some minor repairs from the cold snap but all in all we were lucky. A friend of Amandas was away for the cold snap, and wen they returned there was 5000$ worth of damage to their cabin. Their back up heat (propane) went, it turns out when its really cold propane liquifies and is no good. Their toilet even froze and cracked. Anyway thats enough for now!!

February 22 2004>> Wats shakin everyone?! No news on the job front but news on the travel front. We are staying for the summer!!! We have found a really nice new little cabin on the other side of the valley and are moving in March 1. No water, or electricity, but it has a really nice out house. I plan on building an outdoor shower for the summer hopefully it works out like I plan. We figured if you survive a winter up here you deserve a summer with tons of sun!! Supposidely during the summer solstice the sun bearly leaves the sky something we really want to see!!

april 2 2004>>> Hello everyone!!! I here its starting to look like spring in Ontario, its getting there up here still snow and the occasional slip below zero degrees. Its been hovering round freezing for a week. Still snow though. There is news on the job front!!! I just finished my first week as a carpenter helping finish up a building for wiring. Highlights included the air nailer wearing a tool belt and not working in a kitchen lowlights, itchy insulation. Also I have gained full time employment starting on monday at Treeline woodwork, so I am done with food service for as long as possible. Interestingly enough the owner of treeline goes by the name of Jim Quinzy and is the uncle of none other than Cam Quinzy small world eh! Also Amanda has started working as a learning assistant at a school she enjoys. It is only half time but she hopes it will lead to a full time position for the fall. Spring is here, almost... soon there will be dandy lions.......dandy in deed!!

April 20 2004>>>7:18pm So the Leafs won eh? onto round two!!!! Strangely enough I find myself missing those silly little leaf flags hanging outta cars I used to make fun of!! Well last weekend I went to the White pass to do some snowboarding. Amazing place, they were filming a movie up there called the "Big White or somethin like that. Starrin Robin Williams. A buddy of mine is working in Skagway, And was out on the town and met Robin at the local pizza shack, got him to sign his passport, Robin was worried about goin to jail for defacing his passport. Speakin of Skagway Alaska Me and a friend camped there last friday, before going to the pass holy!!! Cool place, no last call, wooden sidewalks and friendly locals. Skaway is where the gold rushers would get dropped of by the ships before they started their retarded hike through the mountains to Dawson city. Its a huge tourist trap!! Its totally a miner town. Fun place to be right now as there are no tourists yet so you can pretend you are a miner and wander the streets lookin for trouble.  We spent the evening in the red onion an old brothel.(converted into a pub) I read some bahroom graffitti by sluggo, and barely made it back to the tent. My buddy Jol said "Its ALaska man! it does it to you every time!!" needless to say the 2 hour hike up the side of the mountain the next day was pretty difficult!!! Lookin forward to a visit from Spence this Friday!!!

May 1 2004>>> Well Spence has left us!! It was great to see him. Well we have some photos up just click the link above. (photos)They are kinda small, we'll work on that for next time!!! It was 20 degrees here yesterday!!

June 3 2004>>hi everyone!! chris is letting me write this entry, so this time you will get my side of things....not that it is much different than chris'. anyway, all is good in yukon life, it's been pretty neat having daylight almost 24 hours a day. last night i got up at 2 AM to go to the bathroom and it wasn't even dark out, it took our bodies a while to adjust to sleeping, but we have managed pretty good, well those of you that know chris well, know that he can sleep through ANYTHING!!!! even fire alarms!!!! chinook is the happiest dog in the world, going swimming everyday! we are coming home in august for a brief visit for chris' dad's wedding. we fly in on the 11th, and leave the 23rd, but we are going to head to the phish festival from the 12-15. hopefully we can hook up with a bunch of you and hang out. missing everyone.....you guys should all come and visit - it's pretty cool up here!!! lots of luv, chris, amanda and chinook!!
>>>Hey everyone, my turn. Spring has sprung and so have the dandylions. I am making lottsa wine. Last weekend I attended the Haines beer festival and would like to inform everyone that Alaska has the best beer on the planet!!! They love stouts and y'all know I love those dark nasty stouts!!! Highlights "Arrogant Bastard Stout", and The reverand a dark beer thats 10% can you say trouble any hoo, Ontario has got nothin on all this sun almost too much!!!!

July 1 2004>> Hello everyone and happy Canada day!!! So you have probably all herd of the forest fires in bc right? But did you know in the Yukon we have over 100 fires burning also. Its pretty eerie, if the wind blows the right way we are engulfed in smoke. And the planes fly really low so they can see, its like straight outta a war movie, searchin through the jungle for charlie. No worries though, some close calls , but so far whitehorse is in the clear. Go here if you are intereted, its a satelite map of the fires in the yukon. We live at the bottom. Dawson city is a bad place to be right now tho.

August 10 2004>>> HOLY WE LEAVE WHITEHORSE FOR ONTARIO TOMORROW MORNING!!!!! Chris is picking us up at the airport and we are heading straight for vermont for PHISHS last shows ever!!! We will be home monday (NEWFMARKET)or so. Anyway I think everyone should go to the goat next friday for some catch up, so wat do ya say RSVP>>>

August 24 2004>> Wats goin on everyone? Our trip home was good and seem to fly by. the phish shows were..lacking. But, seeing everyone made up for it ten folds. Its pretty much fall here gonna fire up the chainsaw this afternoon. Anyway, Amanda and I bought a 1973 volkswagen camper van its pretty sweet!!! We love it to death its name is Haines. My bus back home is for sale so If anyone knows someone let me know. Thats it fer now see y'all later.

September 23 or so 2004>> So wats goin on? Life up here is good fall is flying by starting to get cold. We have actually started fires the past couple of weeks. So 2 weekends ago I went to a place called Keno, its 5 hours north of here. Its an old mining town. It now boasts a population of 12 residents. I think we met 70% of the population wen can you ever say that! We hiked up a mountain and hung out with Jordy. He has been living in keno for 50 years . He runs the cafe aka bar. It was tons of fun except waking up to snow brrrrrrr.......Future plans include fishin for salmon in haines alaska for thanksgiving I'll let you know how I do.

Dec somethin before christmas 2004>>> Hello everyone bin a while. The longer we stay the harder it is to stay loyal to this page. Well I didn't end up fishing as per the last post but we took Haines ( our bus)to haines alaska. Well its  that time again, SO HAPPY HOLIDAYS I HOPE EVERYONE IS WELL!!!!! Amanda and I are flying to victoria to spend the season with family and friends. We miss you all in ontario.

>>Jan 12 05>>Helo everyone!! Christmas was good, so great to see people we have not seen in a while. So we got some new photos up check em out.(Top of th page right side)Today it was -44 and tomorrow promises to be colder. We are getting a command start put in tomorrow. Y? it has this setting so the truck will start every 2 hours for 4 mins wen we tell it to. When its this cold we have to wake up twice a night to fire the truck up. otherwise it won't start in the morning. Plug it in u say! We have no electricity. So who wants to come visit!!

>>Jan 13 2005>> Well they said it would be colder, its -46 today I guess the last time it was this cold was 1977. So eerie here right now the ice fog is so thick I got lost the other night triing to drive to the house sit we are at. And its not as if I hadn't been here before. And when you breath the stuff in your lungs, they feel as though they are freezing. Tons o fun! I hope the truck doesn't break!! Its hard to believe its 61 degrees colder here than it is in toronto today!!! Well here are some more pics from a warmer time!! Copy and paste the addy, stupid geocities!!

October 8 2005>> Hello everyone happy thanksgiving weekend!!! Holy it has been a long time since I have done a blog. Anyway, Amanda and I are spending thanksgiving in Juneau, Alaska. Its a 1 and a half hour drive and then a 7 hour ferry ride from Whitehorse. We brought bikes on the ferry instead of a vehicle because it is so expensive to bring a car on the boat. But, the ferry terminal is 12 miles outside of town so it was a bit of a bike ride (with a big pack on!). Juneau is very pretty. reminds me of towns in england we visited a couple of years ago. Its funny how mountain towns are very similar, and seaside towns are very similar. Anyhoo....Amanda and I have decided to get hitched. Tie the knot make it official, and all that. Hopefully it will happen this summer depending on her mothers health. Who would have guessed it!! Also, I have switched jobs. I am a finish carpenter for a big development of stand alone condos in whitehorse. I have been taken on as an apprentice and will be attending my second year of training in march. Chinook is well - starting to chill out a bit tho. Amanda landed a permanent gig at her school and is enjoying her job. Well thats it 4 now we miss everyone tons!! No turkey for us this weekend tho, looks as if it'll be a salmon dinner!

Feb 13 2006>> Happy New Year and all that jazz!!! Holidays were good here, Amanda went home to see her mom at christmas, and I stayed in Whitehorse. I had some friends keep me busy so it was all good. I started school today,(Carpenter level 2) my course got pushed forward. So its back to the books. Our winter has been fairly mild with no snow, so I am ready for it to be over. If I can't snowboard to he$# with it I say. I have been keeping myself  entertained all winter with a climbing wall/ bed I built for Amanda and I. And on a friends climbing wall we built. Also I am learning to be a snowboard half pipe judge for the test snowboard half pipe event in a couple o weeks. The canadian winter games will be in whitehorse in a couple of years so I am hopeing I can be a judge for that, It would be pretty rad. Anyway thats it for now!!

Sept 21 2006>>>Yo!!!! Wats up god its been a long time since I have posted here!!! I am still alive and and still can't spell!!!! Well where to start.
I am still a carpenters apprentice and still enjoying it, there is lottsa work, it is a good time to be in the trades. I should have my ticket in 2 summers. I am still making art and have slowly aquired tools so I can now make cabinets. Also Amanda chinook and I moved outta the cabin. we scored a house-sit on the hot springs road with power and running water. So when are we coming back ? I gotta be honest not for a while we love it up here. Somethin about the yukon. We came up here for 6 months and that was about 3 years ago. The funny thing is you tell that to people here and they are all like hell I was in your shoes 20 years ago, so we are not the only ones. So wat are all of you up to?
I have been living in the stone age for a long time we have internet at home again so write me,let me know wats new with you!!! Anyway if anyone is interested we now have a spare bed room.>>>>
