Ann Bossie: Dollmaker


I grew up in West Virginia, raised a family in Oklahoma, and now reside in Alabama. My grandpa use to make things with his pen knife. My daddy was a real mountain man and a jack of all trades. But it was my mother that taught me the most. She would
go down by the river and dig some clay. We would use the clay to make little furniture. Then we would put it in the sun to dry with little pieces of broken crayons on the clay. The sun would dry the clay and melt the crayons so that the objects would have pretty colors on them.
I learned some skills and ideas from my family and a few other folks. For the past five years, now, I have been making and selling these little people. I would be real happy to hear from you, and if you are interested in a doll, I can e-mail you a photo of a few I have on hand.
