Hints and Cheats
Note: Most of these cheats will cause your Pokémon League Hall of Fame to mess up, or even erase your game. You have been warned.
First talk to the Old Man in Viridian City who shows you how to catch Pokémon. Tell him that you're NOT in a hurry. Once he's finished showing you how to catch Pokémon, put the item you want to duplicate (I usually put my Master Balls, Nuggets or Rare Candies) in the sixth spot in your items box. Fly to Cinabar Island and surf up and down the right side of the island so that you are half on land and half on water. You should first run into a pokémon that is at lvl 140 or so. DON'T CATCH IT!!! Then you'll run into MissingNo. It's at lvl 80 but it's defense sucks. Once you kill it (DON'T CATCH IT) your sixth item should have a funny looking square and then a 9. Congrats! You now have around 120 of that item. This cheat screws up your Hall of Fame.

Get a Pokemon from a friend that has SURF, and STRENGTH then go to the S.S. Anne so the guy lets you pass and you can see the S.S. Anne ship and SURF across to an island and there is a truck on the island if you use STRENGTH and push the truck and there should be a poke ball, pick it up and MEW should be in it. I've never tried this cheat so I don't know what it does.
This cheat has many variations. It makes a Poké ball, Great Ball or Ultra Ball into a Master Ball. One is holding DOWN and B when the ball hits the pokémon. Another one is holding A, B and UP when the ball opens.
