I handed her my map, entrusting her with all the adventures the map and I'd been through, soothing myself with the thought that they are like us, like we were 2 years ago.

We all stood in the bus stop going into town to show them around. They were eager to hear everything and anything we had to say, and turning back in my seat, watching them looking around, it all came back to me - how people helped us in the very first days, how I was walking hours to the bus stop because I had no idea there was one much closer, how I found our house and how I liked it at the very first glance, especially after having walked in the pouring rain for about three-quarters of an hour to get there (the 53th page of my map, now theirs, also reckons the day).

I thought I hope this country yields at least as many dreams to them as it has had for us, at least that much, maybe spare the hardships.
