Welcome to the First Annual WLH
Essay and Poetry Writing Contest. The contest is open to the people of all nations.
Participants have the chance to show their talent within. Selected works will
be published in major web sites, courtesy of Liberty Publication, and the chance
to be discovered. Winners shall be bringing pride to their nationality and family.
This contest is sub-divided into the following categories:
Essay: Works should be at 8,000 to 15,000 words.
Poem: Works should be at 1,000 to 5,000 words.
Prize awards for each
category are:
USD$25,000 for 1st place; $10,000 for 2nd; $5,000 for 3rd; $1,000 each for 4th
and 5th. All participants will receive award certificates. In addition, all
winners will recieve publicity cyberwide.
Eligibility and
Mechanics:
This contest is open to any individual who has the knowledge to write and
the ability to express one's view. Participants should first fill up the
registration
form to be eligible for the contest. Submission of works will be from
April 1st till December 31st, 1999.
All entries must be typed, double-spaced and either mailed
or emailed within the contest
date.
No more than one submission per category can be submitted from any participant.
Participants should submit a never before published work.
Submissions will be reviewed by the Editorial board and staff of the World
Lecture Hall. The selection of prize winners will be made by the Awards
Director together with the Board of Judges. It is anticipated that award
selections will be made and entrants notified no later than February 1,
2000. The winning essay will be published in addition to cash prizes.
