Cebu, Philippines - February 8, 2006

Back in Cebu once again. All roads seem to be leading back to Cebu all the time here. However thats not an entirely bad thing. Just recharging the batteries here. Watched a few movies (major motion pictures cost around 90 pesos - US$1.50) to watch. Not bad!

Also at a transition here just waiting. Next is the Island of Palawan, as we're flying into Puerto Princesa in particular. From there we will work our way up to El Nido in the north. At this point, we are just waiting for that flight which will be leaving in two days from now.

The major concern right now is the flight from Manila back to Seoul. Apparently our 'open tickets' are running into problems as everything is booked from now until after the school semester starts!! - which is too late because I'll have to be back teaching again! Apparently A LOT of Koreans are vacation throughout the Philippines right now. I am hoping those reservations get loosened up and I can book my open ticket back alright and easily! Just waiting to see at this point. Absolutely everything on every airline is booked right now though.

We're also trying to make it to a city called Lacban before we leave, as my girlfriend's sister is in a band and is playing there. Its a 7 females in a band kind of band. In addition, they signed a contract to be playing near Seoul as of March as well. So that means we'll be seeing them up there!

I'm also looking forward to getting to Manila as well. As being in Cebu means I've had extra time to browse through the malls, bookstores, and all the modern stuff - and stuff in the Philippines is MUCH MORE PLENTIFUL and CHEAPER than in Korea. So once in Manila, I'm looking forward to restocking all my supplies for the next year (includes books, clothes, board games, DVDs and whatever else I might need.

On top of that.. El Nido.. a very picturesque place on the northern tip of Palawan looks like our destination for Valentine's Day.. so really looking forward to that day.. as well as everything throughout Palawan.

So, in essense, today is one of those days of waiting.. waiting for Puerto Princesa.. waiting for the cities between there and El Nido.. waiting for El Nido itself.. waiting for Manila to process my girlfriend's visa for Korea.. waiting to get to Lucban to see her sister's band.. and waiting to get back to Manila to shop for the next Korean university semester and schoolyear.. in addition with hoping for the open airline ticket to be set with a firm date so I know I'll be able to process my work visa and such as well back in Korea before the schoolyear starts.

More on the Philippines..
