Innsbruck, Austria- September 7, 2004

More time has gone by again. We finished the SOS Kinderdorf with the segment on children and such. Basically we walked around the first night taking pictures of kids, and then had to do some presentation on what it means to be a kid and such. It was alright, and only a 3-day workshop along with some other things. Staying at the SOS Kinderdorf was the highlight though. We each had really nice rooms with big balconies which looked into the mountainside across the distant road. Beautiful views. Plus we had everything there including a swimming pool, TV rooms, a bar downstairs and whatever else. Very nice. Anyhow, that was basically Week 4 of this 8 Week program.

Week 5 and the first day of Week 6 consisted of the general seminars with 2 experts in the field of peace, development, security and international conflict transformation. Fairly interesting. A few guys were military who spoke, and very high ranking. Some of the more anti-military peace students didn't seem to like their presence so much, but I enjoyed having their point of view.

The next two days we will be at a Fire Fighting School. I don't know exactly what to expect, but am definetely looking forward to it. I'll be writing much more extensively about it, as I think its going to be one of the main highlights of the Summer Semester here in Innsbruck, Austria.
