Castello, Spain - April 19, 2004

We had orientation today. Should be a really interesting course. Tomorrow starts the first actual day of classes. I´m liking the campus and everything about it more and more. Interesting how much the group of students do things together. They are also very friendly and inviting as well. On Sunday, I went to the beach with another new student, a guy from Mexico who has lived in Poland the last four years. Interesting guy. We met up with about 10-15 other people in the program who invited us out.

Benicassim is the beach resort town not too far away from here. Beautiful place!! The entire coastline is beautiful with beaches and restaurant. It made me very eager for Summer. Everyone else in the program said that we definetely came at the best time. I agree.

Interesting talking to the Mexican guy about the differences in spoken Spanish. Also other native Spanish-speakers mention the same things. They pronounce things differently and rapid fast. I also realize I really need to study and practice much more Spanish as well. Looks like the course will keep us busy though. We´ll see how it goes.

The palm trees and such around the Meditteranean are beautiful though. Particularly around the beaches, but even around the campus. That will be the best part particularly as it becomes more and more of a Summer feel to Castellon.

The students are also coming back tonight. I have a feeling tomorrow will have a different vibe to it. Most things were still closed today, but tomorrow everything will be exactly what it will be like for the next 10 weeks of this Semester. I´m looking forward to it.
