New Years Eve!
December 30, 2002
Within the last few days, we took a trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto, Ontario. Niagara was quite cold with snow everywhere. The bushes and trees along the falls were frozen with sheets of ice. We had the camcorder and captured the whole thing on film, along with some funny scenes. Flor was throwing snowballs and i was filming where they hit, including one that hit me. All in fun of course. There is also some tourist development around the Falls these days. There is a Guiness Museum, Rain Forest Cafe, CIrcus Circus, and a whole circus of other amusement type things, music blaring, and tourist t-shirts and such. It was still a good trip though.
After Niagara we went up to Toronto. Yonge Street is the street to be in Toronto!! Lots of life and shopping, and extremely multicultural!! I'm quite envious of Canada's safe and multicultural cities that you can easily explore and hangout downtown. There are a few American cities like that - such as Manhattan, San Francisco, New Orleans, etc.. but most American cities are pretty ripe with crime and completely dead and void of life and activities. Anyhow, Toronto is great. There were even some Korean-style internet cafes that were about US$1.50/hour each!! Just like in Korea.. I always wondered why no one in the USA ever sets up internet cafes for under $5/hour. No one in the USA ever goes to Internet Cafes because of the price gouging. However, I was able to find some good Korean internet cafes in California that were under $2/hour and completey packed!! That is the way to make money. Someday I whould get in on that future trend before some usually enterprising fellow American gets in on it.
Well, thats about the extent of things the last few days. Tomorrow I'll be spending the New Years Eve with my brother and his wife, and then the following morning setting up to hit the road. Its going to be a trip going from Michigan to my friend's house in Illinois, to Lousiana, through Texas and across to San Diego, California.
Next in Tunica, Mississippi
