New York, New York, U.S.A.
August 22, 2001

Its been a month already! Well, made it to Michigan, saw my brother's wedding - it was good. I had to do a speech as the Best Man. It was all good. Michigan is still the same. My favorite part is getting in the car, turning the stereo on full volume and just riding down the road. Its incedible feeling when you haven't had a chance to do that in awhile.

Once again back in New York City. Pretty cool place, I love the multicultural mosaic of the city. You can solely walk around in a Korean bubble or an Indian bubble or a Russian bubble.. or whatever kind of world you want to live in, and do all the typical things going to your typical places. Plus you can mix it all up, and fade in and out of different worlds. Being in New York again, makes me miss that mosaic of different cultural lives found in pockets of America. This last month, I've been strongly considering going to California and experience more of the American melting pot which seems so much more prevalent on the Coasts - West Coast and East Coast. Although, one interesting thing is even in very traditionally black and white Michigan.. I am seeing alot more different ethnicities and hearing different languages as well. I was quite surprised to see how much America has changed throughout the country. According to the 2000 Census, the USA has changed tremendously from 10 years ago, and we haven't had massive immigration like this since the 1890s. Its pretty f^$^ing cool!

Tomorrow back to Korea. I've been emailing a friend who might be going to China. I am considering going there too.. and checking it out after I get back. Another option is to take that forward ticket back to Jakarta and doing some more Southeast Asian travelling. I'll figure it all out when I get back to Korea.

Once again in Korea!:
