Lots of changes as always. For one, I was just about ready to back to Korea in time for the World Cup. Instead I found a temporary job assignment, while not paying alot, pays enough. Its an extremely small company, and I'm filling in while one of the employees is traveling in Southeast Asia of all places. Its a small little consulting firm with a total of 4 people in the office including the CEO and his wife. Anyhow, its a good environment. The permanent employee comes back in mid-July.
An extremely good thing for me was to get a job back in Korea once again at a Summer Immersion Course. These situations pay good money and give you free housing and food as well. I could really use the change of pace.
My current temp job in San Francisco is located near North Beach and Fisherman's Wharf. What a change in pace from working at City Hall and other locations in the city. I've been forming a certain opinion about san Francisco, not always in the positive, probably mainly because of what I've seen or experienced. North Beach and Fisherman's Wharf, especially since I'm spending 40-plus hours a week here.. is.. well.. makes me never want to leave San Francisco!! I can see what all the tourists see.. and why its one of the most popular cities in the USA..
Last weekend, Flor and I went to a Filipina festival downtown... also alot of fun.. she told me some of the performers on the stage were pretty famous in the Phippines. Afterwards we went walking down a San Francisco beach for quite a few hours.. so many things to do in San Francisco.. I'm beginning to appreciate them more and more as I'm seeing the city will soon be a memory for me.
Tomorrow is my birthday. The plan is to get up extremely early and Flor and I will go to Yosemite National Park for the day. Anyhow, no new insights in this journal, more of just an update on what's going on!
Oh, and one of my friends from Korea, who is currently living in New York, and I also worked with in New York.. came to San Francisco this last week to see the city. We were able to go out a couple nights, another thing I haven't done much of since I've been here, and San Francisco is alot of fun to go out! The conversation about both Korea and New York brought back alot of memories.
