Consultant - Int. Client Service Team

  • Technical consultant to the Sydney-Canberra Very High Speed Train (VHST) consortium, acting with local/federal governments on behalf of the Project Control Group (PCG)
  • Validation and sensitivity analysis of VHST patronage and revenue business cases
  • Actively initiated client assignment with the Rail Access Corporation (RAC) for the development and project management of year 2000 contingency actions/plans for affected infrastructure
  • Audited and advised VHST modelling simulations. Helped coordinate the development of modelling specifications and subsequent probity audit procedures. Prepared final report to the PCG detailing the audit methodology and independent simulation findings
  • Liaised with relevant state agencies, equity stakeholders and contractors during various VHST technical and operational workshops

  • Specialised in year 2000 compliance issues for both the RAC and State Rail Authority (SRA)

Consultant - Int. Client Service Team

  • Report writing for client deliverable covering rail vehicle crashworthiness, alternative bodyshell materials and interior layout optimisation. Research, data analysis and recommendations
  • Conducted train performance and operational simulations using software tools. Involved model construction and the definition of operational and technical requirements for the proposed KCRC West Rail line. Other major lines were also modelled
  • Lead the development of a detailed schematic outlining the critical informational requirements and flows between major system entities
  • Built cost models for both the Train Control & Signalling systems implementation and Rolling Stock fleet procurement
  • Helped design, coordinate and administer surveys for a Control Centre Study. Involved data coding, collation, interpretation and analysis of the people to people communication flows
  • Produced and coordinated preliminary global correspondence requesting detailed specifications from train manufacturers. Information was categorised and presented as a client deliverable
  • Liaised between client and co-contractors during workshops and steering committees

  • Conducted technical feasibility study on an advanced manufacturing technique - lost core injection moulding. Defined the clients needs and requirements from the technology, leading to the generation of recommendations in regard to the process methodology and future capabilities. Documentation and seminar presentation of processes and findings
  • Conceptualisation and prototype design using 3D CAD modelling software. Rapid prototype fabrication using leading edge technologies such as stereo-lithography
