1987 (?)

Pink azaleas!  This bahiana costume was based on a Veracruz dress
Rey left to me.   I accented the original skirt with white and hot pink
satin ribbons.  I fixed up a shawl from a sheer fabric that matched
the fabric used in the turban, and also placed little kerchiefs made from
the same sheer material onto the skirt.  Strands upon strands of white,
hot pink and green beads adorned the neck, and plastic heart-shaped
bracelets served as the earrings, which were sewn onto the hat.
My hat matched the decor of the restaurant where we went after 'the ball' !!!
These gals, Chris and Rene, took a picture with me and gave me a copy the following year!  Who knew then that 14+ years later we would still be taking pictures together and exchanging them the following year???
