Practice
(an ongoing experiment in Haiku)
partly open blinds orange sun catches my eye a crack in the clouds
my beautiful hat with windstopper fleece inside i lost it last night.
your silent yearning a resonating echo louder than a scream
a cold winter day black ice all over the roads studded bike tires
dry buckwheat pancakes; i enjoyed them anyway: i got up early
get up lazy ass! walk around in the fresh air; shining winter day.
two grown men playing! sucking big-time at hockey; shining winter day!
dachshund on the rink, children stop to say hello; dog moves on.
feeling hunger pains, five minutes away from home; shining winter day.
fluorescent sunlight air-conditioned office wind unhealthy palm leaves
bicycle commute rolling tires squeaky snow winter morning sun
forgotten purchase obligatory return how unfortunate
magpie in the birtch the sun off my left shoulder long winter shadows
squishy wet dogshit in the other direction horseshit mixed with slush
a mid-afternoon poo i return to work refreshed with empty bowels
walking sound muted heavy snowflakes in my hands making a snowball
washing the dishes what else should i be doing there is nothing else
doing the dishes a maniac in disguise and this is sitting
some seeds in the sink i write another haiku with wrinkely hands |
