"We are not asking for more, neither do we want less. We are just asking for what we believe we deserve"
Please take note that my opinion and views are now being posted at a different platform and different format, that is the majalah PEGARI, which is available throught Sarawak and selected places elsewhere. For detail, visit www.pegari.com.my
My main objective of having this homepage is to voice out my views on the life of the Dayak people in Sarawak. By having it posted here, I hope those of you who read it can give your views as well. You can either email your opinions to me so I can put it in this homepage or you can link your homepage to mine, on the subject.
Dayak are
struggling to be as developed as other races, and to be a contributor in
achieving the vision 2020, as justice society. They are involving
themselves in all sort of business and occupation; from street hawkers to
international business, from blue collar to professional employee. It is my hope that we can all share our opinions on
the Dayak people, especially
the constructive one, and hope that our
opinions or this homepage can be a resource for us to improve the
livelihood of the Dayak so that they will be equivalent to others in all aspect of development, otherwise it will not be good for the country as a whole.
So, again I hope this homepage can be a platform for us to
talk about the Dayak especially on how to raise their standards of
education. As far as I can see, education is the best way up for the Dayak
people. We hope to be able to eleviate their interest in education,
hence making all their effort focusing on education.
Dayak are the natives of Borneo which consist of
Beketan, Bidayuh, Iban, Kayan, Kenyah, Kelabit, Murut and a few more. The Iban used
to be known as head-hunters and now they are known as a humble human being
who live a very simple life especially those who stay in a
longhouse.
Please inform all the Dayak about this homepage.
Distribute it freely. Some of the articles below may be directed to our
Dayak student who have no access to this homepage. Hope you can distribute
to them through hard copy.
Any idea, comment, suggestion or whatever, preferably
something positive and constructive, please email to me at uthant@engineer.com
