Leboh van nya baru udah ngelih kami, dia anembiak siko dipelaba ke Iban, ngeluar ke pala iya ari jendela van, malik be belakang ngagai kami lalu ngemilut (sticking out his tongue and making an ugly face).
I realise semina bansa Iban ti selalu ngereja utai ti bakanya. Maioh ga menua bukai udah ditujah. Nadai meda urang putih, china, etc bakanya.
Why my people?? What's wrong with me or my car? Nyangka laban iya begediq ati meda kereta aku manah agi ari enggi iya. Nya meh kitai bansa. Enggai meda urang bukai lebih ari iya. Adam & Awa bisi dua iko anak. Siko jai siko manah. Nyangka kitai Iban tu turun iya ke jai!
Ko aku bejako dalam ati diri "Sida ke baka anembiak nya meh urang ti patut aku lalau tauka guide. Sida nya meh ti patut dikerindu ke aku. How can I guide them if I do not love them?
Tauka nembiak nya maybe going to be our future leader. Maybe not unless he stop sticking his tongue out. For sure one day he will realise. But his action has painted a black image on our people.
People tend to generalise. So do we. Let's see how other races view our people. Pose a question to them. "What is in your mind when you heard the word Dayak?" See what are their answers.
Maybe you can predict the answers. For the positive answers, go and tell our people to hold on to it if not improve. For the negative answers, think of what make them think that way and think of ways to rectify them, so as to remove the negative views of others toward our people.
I know we may not be able to go out there and tell them what to do and what not to do. But at least, when there are opportunities, tell them. Sapa meh madah ke sida enti enda kitai?
