The last, most important thing you will do this semester is put a selection of your work into a folder that you will turn in to me by 3:30 pm Tuesday the 12th of December. The portfolio allows me to see in a more holistic way what you have been doing throughout the semester. By including rough drafts as well as final drafts, you will be able to demonstrate porgress as well as writing skills and creativity. Remember: The portfolio is worth 20% of your total grade. Everything we have done this semester comes down to this assignment. If you have been working hard and observing deadlines, the portfolio should not be a problem for you. By now, unless you turned in late work, you should have my comments on each graded assignment except for the advertising essay, which I will be turning back Tuesday, after Thanksgiving break, and the summaries, which you are turning in today.
What should be included in the portfolio:
(1)
The rough drafts of the first three papers (personal narrative, imagination
gallery, ads)
(2) The final revisions of those papers
(3) Assignment #5, the reflective essay
(4) EITHER the summary + six journal entries OR eight
journal entries
Good luck and have fun putting this together!
I know I will enjoy reading these and seeing the changes you have made.
Many of your papers were fine papers the first times around, and will only
be even better with another revision.
Thanks again for all your hard work.
