I was brought up not to stare and this picture speaks for itself.

In the evening, although it hadn't been announced on the notice board next to the lift, there was a good old-fashioned sing-along for adults around the cocktail piano.

During the night Uncle Dennis moved about quietly inside the wardrobe, re-arranging empty coat-hangers until the hooks all stared in the same direction. He had a minor coughing fit and waved his limbs around but he never completely came out to make a nuisance of himself, and Nettie repeated her prayers at regular intervals.
