the reign of the rain is over at last
its dozen day hold finally passed
the clouds did gradual disperse
the birds dart, freed of the curse
birds I never hear except in early morn
all calling today no longer forlorn
the light has that same yellow
as if morning came to say hello
making it seem brighter than it could
and if I might hold this moment I would
I might imagine myself in the garden before the fall
before the serpent changed it all

the reign of the rain is over at last
its dozen day hold finally released
the clouds have gradually gone away
now the birds dart from tree to tree
birds I never hear except at dawn
all calling today no longer forlorn
the light has that same yellow
as if morning came this afternoon
and if I might hold this moment I would
I might imagine myself in the garden before the fall
