High Light

on just such a day may I find that
wistful stare out windows makes my temples ache and
find it far too beautiful to evade this brisk invasion

fresh day high bright from recently raised pointy peaks
generous visit makes to soft old hunch down plain
dull cough swirl of browngray vapors is waved away to heaven
sending new blue light dust-refracted to brilliant hue

go on out to experience- awaken to its lively dawn
by stinging breeze raw brushing across these cheeks
create clear imprint memory of a white winter not known
a fresh imagining of glacial snow from far lofty heights
touch of azure sierra hope dispels dull urban despair

urges hundred mile ride on highway flying open-mouthed
to taste the aerial globe dust on gritty metallic tongue
and imprint the wailing world on my own brine-freed brain
