"The Night When Sleep Won't Come"
The night when sleep won't come - it can be kind of a precious
misery. Your thoughts have a long leash. Sometimes, if you give in to
the fact, its wonderful. If you feel you have to fight it, its
endless. Giving in means enjoying the roaming of your mind, or getting
out of bed, doing something useless like TV, or creative. If you're
truly too tired to sleep, (yeah, it happens) its like being
intoxicated. Inhibitions go away. Should you write that long lost
friend? Should you go out and drive the car aimlessly? Should you
lie on the front lawn and pick out constellations? Any are worthy
occupations for a restless mind. But mostly, you fret in bed, knowing
the alarm is going off soon. Is half an hours sleep better than none?
