I wish I could write the sound, the feel of it- it's a satisfying thing, sensational screnching or something similar and it works so well I could see making clothes just to incorporate this stuff in interesting ways.. almost.. like walking naked-toed in the damp soft sand on the cooling beach just when it gets to be time to pull on the hooded sweatshirt and un-scrench the velcro to stick your hands in the pocket that reaches all the way across the front, so you can touch your own fingertips- oh but they don't have velcro on those- ok- the stringed hoods- that the string always comes out of, so you spend many minutes working it back in, a little inchworm move at a time. I remember when my kids were little- they came out with those tennis shoes they could velcro tight, and I wondered if this was the end for shoelaces.. but no, eventually they got laced shoes, the idea didn't often transcend the little ones' shoes I remember those shoes, you could hold one in your palm.. One of those kids hardly a kid any longer, he can wear MY shoes now The velcro in his life? hmm he pulls it apart and puts it back together daily, his need for me to be Dad vs just a buddy he can DIS a little sometimes, and discuss things with, like computer hardware, one of his favorite subjects
