What would you say to an alien? (an Utne topic)


What you gonna do when they come for you
what you gonna say when they take you away
how you gonna stop those little green men?
they'll stick you in a great big pen


How you gonna run when they freeze your legs
how you gonna feel when they're wooden pegs
tell what you'll plan when you see that saucer
come and land beside your daughter?


Say goodbye now to earth and kin
say hello to a new place then
a place where no one speaks a sound
where when you speak none look around


Where humans are a zoo creature,
and you're like a monster double feature
they keep you locked in little cages
they know our wars from all the ages


So think a little when you act
you never know who might react
and remember animals are people too
not just something for a zoo
