This is Alaska.
The star is where im from, Wasilla.
Located in the beautiful Matanuska-Sustina Valley, known also as the Mat-Su Valley, or to people from Anchorage,
The Valley.
Right on the Kenai Penninsula, overlooking the Cooks Inlet, just a short drive to Anchorage, Fairbanks, Valdez...
And Girdwood (a little past Anchorage, farther down the Inlet towards Seward) , where all the best skiing is. *at Alyeska Lodge*
Beautiful during the summer, and not too bad during the winter, Low traffic considering it is a growing metropolis.
Neighboring cities would be Palmer, and the Butte,
Biglake, Houston, and Sutton.

These would be 2 moose in my mothers backyard one summer. Fireweed grows abundently in Keni Penninsula area.
These are a mother and calf moose in my front yard one winter morning
This is a mountain view from Cold Creek gold mine in Girdwood, Alaska.
A view of my backyard lake... No Name Lake (When i lived in the cabin on Point Mckenzie)
A great shot i caught on the way back down the Al-Can. A glacier with a rainbow and storm clouds, much more beautiful when you were actually there. ( you can just barely see the rainbow in the lower left quarter)
This is the view of Portage Glacier, kind of.
When I took this I was standing in the visitor center looking out the window, the white glare in the middle of the picture covers up the actual glacier itself, but you get a wonderful view of the icebergs broken off of it, floating in the water below.
This was taken back in 1993,...
As of the summer of '99, there were hardly any visible icebergs, and the glacier was all but gone.
Sadly, in a few more years you will not be able to see the Portage Glacier from the Visitor Center.
