Yes My Name is really DaVor (spelling emphasis mine)

It would seem that I was born in 1968, just after the summer of love (October 10th @ 7:32am to be precise). Both my parents had very ordinary names. My Mother was one of 5 others in her graduating high school class with the name "Linda Jones". And my father was Roger Russell.

Since it was the 60's and many babies were being given names like Moon Unit, Flower, Star Child etc...My hippie parents jumped on the bandwagon (sorta) and gave me Davor. I was named after a Canadian Croatian Bass Player that was in a band my dad roadied for.

My mother had decided I would be a girl and that since it was an unusual name nobody would know I was a girl with a boys name (a girl named bob sorta thang). But the Gods of Names said NO, and to my mother's dismay I was born male.

So that's my name and how I got it.

You wouldn't believe how many times I have told that story, or been asked to show I.D. to prove that Davor is indeed my real name. From what I have been told from the other Davors (all Croatian or Croatian/Canadian) I have met online I am the only Non-Croatian Davor they know of.
