Surfin' Cape Hatteras!

New Surfer Girls survey some decent waves
(and surfers) near the Cape Hatteras Pier.

On the last day of our trip, the waves had turned glassy, the water warmed by a couple good sunny days. I shed the wetsuit and just had a good time. Yeah, that's me under the foam.

Cape Hatteras has Waves!

Kalani got into a couple of good waves at the pier.

I figured, "It's the East Coast, there's no waves!" Well, I figured wrong. Of course, the waves weren't as epic as the ones I'd surfed back home... a long, long time ago. We checked out a couple of neat spots on Frisco, and turned out the waves were quite ridable.

Ocracoke Ponies

We took a ferry to Ocracoke Island, and right across the street from the ponies was a beach spot with fair waves. The water was kinda dark, and no one else was out. I managed to catch a couple head-high waves.
