Deeper
I go deeper, where white shines and your
heart climbs into my throat and grabs me.
-Deeper.
It grabs me like a frightened child clinging
to security. But I look over at you, my gaze
not met once, and I wonder.
-Deeper.
If you really loved me like our eyes do,
could I love you? I want yes but I feel no.
your eyes carry me in your folded hands,
God is back in business.
The silence screams too loud and Styrofoam
security surfaces. You look away, silencing the
silence. My gaze falls on deaf hands.
