T. Lee's Poems

As I live, so shall I write and the words will have a life of their own

Liberation

I've locked myself in
And swallowed the key.
I'm saved.
Nothing can harm me now.
I lay in the dark
And soak in this solitude.
I have everything.
I've become independent.
All I need
Is for someone to come
And
LET ME OUT!

Don’t Rush

Where are you going old man
that you must look over your shoulder?
What are you running from tired sir?
Are you fleeing from getting older?

Are there any regrets in your life?
Do you have merits from your life?
Have you learned love in this life?
Did you have or give respect in this life?

Don’t be in a hurry sir to make this crossing.
Take your time, it’s worth remembering.
Do not rush to do your slumbering,
tomorrow will come soon enough.

Is there any anger left inside you?
Do your friends still abide you?
Have you friends to stand beside you?
Will you be remembered when you’re gone?

Take your time to enjoy this living.
Enjoy the giving, not the taking.
Stop the rushing, do the savoring.
In peace, greet the dawn.

Because

Because I want you
I will not haunt you
with my need.

I do hunger for you
and I do desire you
but I will not let
your hear me plead.

I want to feel you;
I’ve a need to be near you.
But I stay silent
because I fear you will leave.
