Kids Against Drugs Drag Racing Team '81 IHRA SuperStock Camaro 356 cui Naturally Aspirated Full Body 8.56 @ 159.38 Driver: Kenneth Kidder Owner/Chief Mechanic: John Kidder |
Thankyou for viewing the KAD website. The car is located in Lexington, Kentucky and the driver is 18 yr old Kenneth Kidder that is a graduate of Lafayette High School. Kenneth started racing with the name Kids Against Drugs ever since he started the sport of drag racing at age 14. As odd as it may seem Kenneth wasn't forced to chose the name Kids Against Drugs for the car but he chose that name himself when he was told that he was allowed to put any name on the car he desired. He chose the name Kids Against Drugs as a way to show his standing on the large drug problem in the United States as well as around the world. His parents have supported him 150% with a name on the car such as that and the car is looked at in a very high manor by many people every where the car is taken. And as usual you have the typical idiot that always asks Kenneth "Why'd you chose such a name as that to stick on your car? Why not something else that would be more radical??" Well, in all honesty Kenneth believes that there's no better high in the world than drag racing and he's set out on a goal to reach as many people as he can and to try to get them to understand his point of view. The way he looks at it is "Yes drag racing is probably more exspenisive than any person's drug habit considering we go through a set of rear slicks every 2-3 weeks all depending on how much we've run and they cost roughly $250 a piece. That's not to mention the entrance fees to the races, the fuel for the car and the tow vehicle, plus car maintnence. If anything I'd like to reach atleast 1 person in the world that has a drug problem and show them that there are other alternatives to life than drugs. I've been featured in 3 issues of National Dragster and 1 Issue of Super Chevy Magazine and that doesn't go to my head at all. What does somewhat go to my head is when I have somebody come up to me and tell me that they love my car and love even more the message I'm trying to voice behind it, they feel I'm a very bold brave person for doing something like that. It's the best feeling in the world to hear that come out of someone's mouth." Kenneth is a member of the National Kids Against Drugs Association and also a member of RFC (Racers For Christ) and periodically will take the car to various shows and speak about his dealings in life and what the car truely means to him, because to him, it's more than just a car with a name. It's a passion, a goal in life. For more information on the car click here. For information on SPC Kidder click here |
