SOLORION VAN T'AERYN

Height - 6' 9"

Solorion was a prince, born and raised on Earth's sister planet T'aeryn. In his youth, he traveled far across the lands of both of the planets questing for adventure and knowledge. He refused to settle down in the palace at Tirisfal, the capital city of T'aeryn, much to his parents chagrin, but preferred to live and learn from the people instead.

Solorion was orphaned at the age of sixteen when the King and Queen were killed during a peaceful meeting to Earth. They and their bodyguards were found slain on the outskirts of the forest of Tangaloor, near one of the Star Gates. Stricken with grief and rage, the young prince fled his court to Earth, determined to hunt down the party responsible for his parents' deaths. Rahmiel, the prince's bodyguard, and a warrior of the Kirin Tor, pursued him. Solorion, well taught in the ways of the Kirin Tor, eluded him for many days until his teacher finally caught up with him in the forest of Tangaloor. Rahmiel argued with him to return to T'aeryn and take on his duties as the new King but the prince refused until he had brought his parents' murderers to justice. Both of them agreed to travel to Tarsonis, the city in which the King and Queen were last seen alive. However, if no conspiracy was brought to the surface after a week's time, Rahmiel would take Solorion back to T'aeryn to be crowned the new King.

Upon arriving at the great city, news reached them that the assassin had already been caught and was facing trial and execution. The murderer, called Terailion, was part of a band of brigands and thieves. Solorion went to see the prisoner and was shocked to discover that Terailion was no older than he. Filthy, tear-stained, and beaten by the guards, the lanky youth looked no more murderer than a common street urchin.

Terailion gave them his version of the story, that he was camping in the forest with his family and friends when the King and Queen of T'aeryn rode by with their retinue, heading for the Star Gate. Suddenly riders cloaked in black flashed through their camp like lightning, swords drawn and hacking at anyone they could reach. His father fell, trying to protect his mother and little sister who died under a hail of arrows. One of the riders pulled him up across the saddle of his horse and carried him back to the city.

He was accused of high treason for being part of the band of assassins that killed T'aeryn's King and Queen. His execution was scheduled in three days time. Something in the young man's eyes made Solorion believe him and at any rate, he was going to uncover the truth, for the appearance of the matter was deceiving. Meeting with Tarsonis' ruler, King Danath, he and Rahmiel brought to light a set of suspicious circumstances.

The King and his court were also under investigation for a conspiracy involving the brigands to assassinate Solorion's mother and father. A message written by King Danath's high advisor was found on one of the thieves' bodies. Numerous plans, maps, and directions were found in the King's guards' rooms as well as in his advisor's study. An uproar immediately broke out between the planet T'aeryn and the nation of Tarsonis. The people of the usually benevolent planet cried out for the blood of Tarsonis, demanding that justice be served for their beloved King and Queen. Only the presence of the Kirin Tor prevented a catastrophe from lashing out against the Earth and quelled uprising riots.

King Danath told Solorion that his parents had come, expecting a meeting with him, but once they had arrived they found out that they had not been invited. They were surprised because they had received an urgent message supposedly written by him, but the King had welcomed them to stay nonetheless. After they had stayed in his palace for half a day, they suddenly felt uneasy and decided to leave for their home planet right away. That was the last time the King had seen them alive. The "soldier" of Tarsonis that had carried Terailion with him back to city had mysteriously disappeared after giving the boy over to the palace guards.

Rahmiel was already suspecting that an inner hand had a part in this scheme, it seemed too easy a set-up for the nation of Tarsonis. Nielas Belair, a warrior of the Kirin Tor, was the most likely suspect. He had always pressed the King and Queen to create a separate sect of the warriors for T'aeryn and Earth thus giving the Kirin Tor more power. He was of mysterious origins from Earth and not fully trusted by Rahmiel and many members of the royal court including some of the Kirin Tor. Nielas was a deadly fighter with superior skills to many of the warriors and only Rahmiel was able to match him blow for blow in a sparring match.

Nielas had indeed conspired to kill the King and Queen of T'aeryn. He had subtly planned a shift of power from the rulers of T'aeryn to the warriors for years. Nielas had several warriors of the Kirin Tor loyal to him and willing to carry out his instructions. His plan for placing the blame on the King of Tarsonis for regicide and stirring up a war between the two planets had been brilliant. There was only one problem however, the King and Queen, instead of staying overnight in King Danath's palace and allowing Nielas' warriors to assassinate them there, had immediately left to travel back to T'aeryn. Now Nielas had made a hasty decision and killed them before they reached the Star Gateway. The plot had been rushed far too quickly and he was now suspect.

The clever man wanted a war to break out between the Earth and T'aeryn so that he might influence the young Prince to give him more control over the people and even make him or the Kirin Tor regents of the planet in the time of turmoil. Nielas had underestimated Solorion and it had been his undoing. He had not counted on the Prince to travel to Earth and unravel his conspiracy. The young Prince had believed Terailion and had rescued him from certain death. Nielas made yet another hasty decision to kill the Crown Prince and his bodyguard before he could get back to T'aeryn with the thief to give their evidence and testimony.

Solorion, Rahmiel, and Terailion were ambushed in the forest by Nielas' faithful warriors, minutes away from the nearest Star Gate. Terailion saw the archer in the trees and stepped in front of the arrow that was speeding to Solorion's heart. He fell in front of the Prince, the arrow piercing his lung. Solorion and Rahmiel fought fiercely and courageously around the gravely wounded Terailion, but they were still hopelessly outnumbered. Just when it seemed that they were about to be lost, two dozen Kirin Tor warriors came charging up from the Star Gate along with palace guards. The cloaked and hooded fighters attempted to flee but were captured and exposed as traitorous warriors of the Kirin Tor and placed under arrest.

The Kirin Tor were warned by Jareil Halcyon, a young soldier in training, that Nielas and his subversive warriors had planned to assassinate the Crown Prince while he was on Earth. They had arrived to prevent this disaster from happening just in time. Terailion was swiftly taken to the palace on T'aeryn to be treated for his serious injury. Rahmiel locked Solorion in a room immediately after they arrived, intending to deal with Nielas by himself. Solorion battered himself against the door, yelling angrily at his teacher that he should be the one to punish his parents' betrayer. Solorion broke the window and climbed down to the next floor of the palace, sword in hand.

He came upon Rahmiel and Nielas locked in a fierce battle. Solorion desperately wanted to help his teacher but dared not break his concentration. Both were equally skilled and evenly matched but Solorion could see that Rahmiel was being slowly worn down. Before Nielas could press his advantage, the prince charged them, intending to engage Nielas in battle. Rahmiel used the distraction to force Nielas sword away from his hand. The defeated Kirin Tor slumped to the floor.

The Prince was now between a choice: he could kill Nielas right then and there and avenge his mother and father, or he could imprison the traitor for life. Solorion then pitied the man and felt that his parents did not want him to become a murderer for their sakes, he was about to condemn him to the royal court when Nielas made his decision for him. The treacherous warrior pulled a knife from his boot and stabbed Rahmiel in the back. Rahmiel instinctively drove his sword through Nielas' heart at the last of his strength.

The betrayer of the royal family was dead. The teacher and bodyguard of the Prince was too grievously wounded to recover, Rahmiel died then, in Solorion's arms. Solorion was deeply saddened by the loss of another family member, and highly commended Rahmiel for the honor he did for the royal family. He laid his teacher to rest under the Great Tree in the palace gardens, which had been a favorite of Rahmiel's, and constructed a monument in the middle of the city to the memory of his teacher, mother, and father.

Terailion, when he had heard the news, vowed to always protect Solorion and his family with his life. Solorion and Terailion became inseparable in the days to come as best friends and blood brothers. Terailion started his training as a warrior of the Kirin Tor and Solorion did his best to repair the crumbling relations between the Earth and T'aeryn. Jareil, who had saved them from death in the forest on Earth, also became friends with them and was made a warrior of the Kirin Tor at the Prince's crowning ceremony. His coronation marked the start of a peaceful and prosperous reign. Two years after he became the new King, Solorion married the beautiful Imbrium, a former Guardian of a Star. How Solorion first came to meet Imbrium is a minor adventure in itself and is too long a tale to tell here.

Solorion noticed his friend, Jareil, slowly turning from him over the years. He was greatly saddened, for nothing seemed to repair the rift between them that had suddenly sprung up. As a last effort, he made Jareil General of an army in Tirisfal, but even then Solorion heard rumors that Jareil was stirring up strife against him. Solorion left Jareil alone, hoping that time would repair whatever injury that had driven him from the King. However, time turned out to be against him and the planet T'aeryn.

Four years after the birth of the Crown Princess, on the fateful day of the solar eclipse, Solorion had sent his friend Terailion to investigate the mysterious shadows and tremors on the Earth. A great Army of Darkness rose up from deep within the Earth and attacked the planet of T'aeryn. Leading the Army was the General of Tirisfal, Jareil, who now called himself the Dark Lord's Chosen One. Taken completely by surprise, the entire planet fell before the Army which spread like a black wave, killing everything it touched. Death and destruction reigned supreme.

Solorion made a desperate attempt to hold the forces of evil at bay with the palace guards but they were unmercifully slaughtered when the dark warriors tore through the soldiers like mist. The King was forced to retreat to the courtyard, when, to his astonishment, his young daughter appeared from the gardens. Now Solorion fought to protect his daughter's life as well his own before the palace gates. He was challenged to a fight with Jareil, who had become a cold and heartless man filled with a strange and terrible power. Solorion fought bravely, he was equal in skill to Jareil but he was no match for the dark powers of the Chosen One's talisman. Gaining strength from the blood-red stone, Jareil overcame Solorion and slew him on the palace steps in front of the Princess.

The Princess was rescued by her caretaker, Elowyn, and taken swiftly to Earth. The beautiful planet of T'aeryn had became a desolate wasteland of death. The Queen Imbrium saved the Earth from the same fate by causing her Star to become a supernova, a raging explosion of powerful light that instantly destroyed the Army of Darkness as well as herself and T'aeryn.
