Beautiful and mysterious, Elowyn served as a priestess in the royal courts
of T'aeryn. She was born on Earth and raised in the wild forests of Tangaloor,
learning the lore of the forest from her mother and father. She traveled
far across the Earth, learning many crafts, and eventually journeyed to the
planet T'aeryn. She often received visions and prophecies of the future and
became highly skilled in the ways of herbology. The Queen
Imbrium,
who had always lived alone with her Constellation in the heavens, became
close friends with Elowyn, naming her "sister", although the Queen had none.
Elowyn came to live in the palace as a confidant and advisor to the King
and Queen.
Elowyn assisted the Queen with the birth of the Crown Princess, receiving
a vision that the Princess would one day become a great warrior. When the
Princess had grown to nearly four years of age, Elowyn began to have troubling
dreams full of smoke and fire. She dreamt that she was standing on a silver
sea before a great crystal sphere ringed by eight stars. She saw a dark fire
engulf the sphere and looking down she realized she was holding a warm spark
of light in her hands. The crystal globe would shatter, sending shards of
glass in all directions, the eight stars fell to the sea which became red
with blood. A dark menacing shadow would threaten her and the light she carried.
Elowyn always awoke before the shadow could touch her, but she suspected
that the shadow was a human being.
The visions grew more and more clear as the weeks past and she finally went
to the Queen. The Queen was troubled too, for she had heard news from the
Parhelia that the Earth seemed to be getting darker and colder. A great trembling
could be felt occasionally from underneath the Earth's crust, as if many
feet were marching below. Imbrium told her friend to keep a close watch on
the Earth for a rare solar eclipse of the sun was about to happen in a few
days time.
Then, on the day of the eclipse, as Elowyn was watching her still reflection
in her scrying bowl, she fell into a trance, and could only watch, frozen,
as the dream replayed itself even more vividly than before. This time she
heard screams of pain and terror as the black fire washed over the crystal
sphere. The small spark in her hands glowed even more brightly, flooding
the silver sea with a clear, strong light. The dark shadow that had pursued
her so many times in the past, grew larger at the sight of the spark she
carried. Elowyn tried to hide the light, but it pulsed even stronger. The
dark mass in front of her solidified, and as it reached out for her with
smokey black hands, she could just make out the features of a man she knew.
And Elowyn woke up, realizing that the screams ringing in her ears from her
dream were real. She ran for the King and Queen but it was too late, the
planet had already fallen to the Armies of the Evil One. The Queen forced
the young Princess into her arms and bade her to flee to Earth where she
would be safe. Imbrium would stay on T'aeryn and defend the planets of Light
from the tides of darkness. Elowyn never saw the Queen again.
Minutes after they had crossed the threshold of the Star Gate, a flash of
light so brilliant, it blinded, sent shockwaves throughout space. The Princess
was taken deep into isolation, hidden away from the prying eyes of the world
and raised in the forest. Elowyn sealed away her memories of the Great Fall,
telling the young girl that she was her Aunt. When the time came, she would
tell the Princess everything about her past. Elowyn taught her everything
she knew about the forest, the plants, and the animals.
However, when the Princess came to be of twelve years old, Elowyn was once
again threatened by dark visions. Fearing the worst, she had the Princess
sent away with trusted friends to be looked after for a short while. One
night, an evil shadow calling himself "Malus" showed up at her cottage, bearing
news that his master, the Dark Lord's Chosen, would like to have a few words
with her. Before she could react, the General of Tirisfal was in front of
her, the betrayer and murderer of the planet T'aeryn. He had tracked the
Princess to this forest and wanted the last member of the royal family within
his grasp. Elowyn refused to tell him anything, even after she was tortured.
Jareil, in a temper, set Malus and his Shadow Wolves on her. Elowyn fought
bravely, courageously, but in the end, she died a most terrible, grisly
death.
