THE CIRCLE OF EIGHT
For every star in the universe there exists a Guardian for that star. These
Guardians protect and watch over their star and constellation. The power
of their star can be physically manifested in objects of frozen light and
can be changed according to their will. The most common shapes for the star
to appear in are the sword, the scepter, the bow, the spear, and the scythe.
The Guardians are named after their stars, linked with and can control the
power of their star. They live incredibly long lives, as long as the life
of their star, billions of years old.
Although there are trillions of stars in the galaxy, only eight are important
to Earth and T'aeryn. The Circle of Eight includes Helios, Imbrium, Sirius,
Polaris, Antares, Vega, Procyon, and Deneb. Together they formed a pact to
protect and watch over the planets of Light - Earth, T'aeryn, and the Moon.
When the Circle is broken after the Great Fall of T'aeryn, darkness spreads
unchecked throughout the Earth and evil is allowed full reign. |

Helios
Helios is the Guardian of the Sun and Keeper of the Sun's Blade - the ultimate
power of life for Earth and T'aeryn. He is the most powerful Star of all
because of his life-giving Light to the planets.

Imbrium
Once the Guardian of the Parhelia Constellation, Imbrium left her place in
the heavens to marry the Prince of T'aeryn. She sacrificed herself so that
the Army of Darkness could not reach the Earth.

Sirius
Sirius is the Guardian of the Dog Star in Canis Major and is the brightest
Star in the sky. A kind and gentle man, he helps the protagonists at the
risk of his own life against the forces of evil. He is lured into a trap
by Jareil and held as bait for the power of the stars.

Polaris
Cold and calculating, Polaris is forever devising plans to make Helios give
the Star Guardians more influence over the planets of Light. Vega and he
constantly quarrel over the Earth, each one wanting power over the planet.

Antares
Antares is a rebellious trickster, a wrecker of peace, and a bringer of chaos.
He pulls pranks and causes trouble for the Circle of Eight as well as other
Stars but is a good friend to the heroes and a malicious thorn to the
villains.

Vega
An elegant and reserved Star, Vega plots against Polaris for power as the
North Star of Earth. She unwittingly gets Sirius captured on Earth.

Procyon
Procyon is the youngest member of the Circle. He is Sirius' companion to
the Dog Star of Canis Minor. Affectionate and generous, he usually finds
a way to cheer up anyone feeling low.

Deneb
Sweet and gentle, Deneb is the second youngest member of the Circle. Extremely
sensitive to others emotions, she shies away from violent outbursts and
confrontations. Deneb falls in love with Sirius who is completely unaware
of her feelings for him.
