family reunion

Cool cloudless night,
What a sight,
The heavens open wide,
The universe’s insides.

The light
of a googolplex of stars,
In a googol score of galaxies.

The light
from algebraic miles away,
at super concentrated miles an hour,
(the speed of Thought squared,
and then some)

Pierces my eyes,
And beats the dust from off my soul.

The light
From two distant points of night,
A spiral arms length apart,
Both seen simultaneously,
On a tiny clot of rock,

The light,
Two packets of energy,
From the heart of now dead stars,
The signatures of death,
The signatures of life.

Two photons,
Last entangled,
At the universe’s birth,
Separated twins,
Sent forth from their respective foster homes,
Meet again at last,
Find a new home,
Inside me,
After a billion year journey,
a family reunion.
