GENERAL
INFORMATION

MESSAGE BOARD
All of the suggestions on this page are located in and around the
downtown area... just a quick walk or a cheap cab ride away. For
general information, try some of these sites:
San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau
The San Antonio RiverWalk Guide
The Heart Of San Antonio Web Guide
PLACES TO SEE...
The Alamo: The #1 tourist attraction in Texas. If you're
lucky, the Christmas tree will still be up. Don't leave your
bike in the basement.

The Riverwalk: Take a boat ride, stop for a snack, you may
even catch some live music for the holiday season. We even
have a quick reference map for your enjoyment.

La Villita: A historical "little town" in the center of downtown
San Antonio. Take a virtual tour on their website.
THINGS TO DO...
Blue Star Arts Complex: A collection of galleries and studios
that is worth the cab ride to get there. Call to make sure who
will be open.

ArtPace: A place for artists in residence to both work and
show. The residents change 4 times a year... find out more
on their site.

The Buckhorn Salon and Museum: For a change of pace and
a little western camp, check this place out for live action
shows and wild west saloon atmosphere.
WAYS TO SPEND MONEY...
The River Center Mall: It's a mall, but it sits right on the river.
You can catch a ride up the river, or watch some live music at
the pavillion out back. It's also the place to pick up those few
items you left at home.

Shops at La Villita: Want a souvineer? This would be a good
place.
WHERE TO EAT...
Restaurant BIGA: An old restaurant with a new downtown
location. Rob used to work here a LONG time ago. Although
we have yet to try out their new locale, the chef/owner has
not changed which insures a great meal.

Rosario's: Why do all of our favorite places keep changing
the location? We can't answer this, but we do know that
Rosario's (known for good, cheap food and awesome
evenings full of salsa music and dancing) has changed a bit.
It is a little more modern and much less cozy, but it is still a
San Antonio favorite.
