So, here we are in the town with the most perfect climate in the world. (Or, is that San Diego?) I spent 26 years of my life in the rain, snow and two days of sunshine per year of the Northern U.S. I plan to spend the rest of my days right here.
My boyfriend and I live in a house that is slowly shifting (as are many places in California). Several times each day we hear the grunting and groaning of the building. Our apprehension grows with the cracks in the walls. We've been in this house almost 9 years. Moving was a major endeavor and we figure if the building falls in, we won't have anything left to move so, why not stay? We're close to the beach, downtown and the local watering holes. It's a trade off. Nothing's ever perfect.
We share this living space with two cats and on occasion other neighborhood felines. We don't entertain much, but we occasionally play host to raccoons and several local opossums. They seem to like grazing in our garden and now that we've got a compost heap . . . well, you can only imagine.
If you're interested in visiting the area, here are a couple of good sites to visit. You'll find other San Clemente links within these pages. Clicking on any of these will open a new browser window:

information on San Clemente, including a historical tour
San Clemente government and local agencies
plus a variety of links to other sites
These sites will fill you in on the details of the town. For a
look at San Clemente from my point of view, check out The San Clemente Stroll.
It's a fun little tour that you might want to print out and bring
with you if you're planning on visiting.
