A Short Biographical Note...
It's safe enough to assume that you haven't arrived here by accident, so no introductions should be necessary. For your edification, though, here's a brief sketch of my recent past.
Having grown up in the buzzing metropolis of Pensacola, Florida, and earned a dubious degree in philosophy from Vanderbilt University in surprisingly tolerable Nashville, I found myself inexorably drawn to Massachusetts.
From thence I came to spend a few months working for the Atlantic Monthly magazine, in their New Media department. When that engagement (read: internship), and after a brief stint as a man of leisure which was not entirely to my satisfaction I commenced to do web and editorial work for Information Please LLC, makers of fine reference material.
That started in July of 1998, and though the intervening year (which you're welcome to read about on my handy résumé) has been a good one, I have found myself looking for new avenues of satisfaction. Some international relations classes at Boston University have with the intellectual stimulation bit, and it's become abundantly clear that it's high time I started thinking about hitting the books again.
Which is not to say that I would object to offers of lucrative sinecures with large amounts of paid vacation. I am in fact on an active job search at this very moment, and although I do need to polish up my cover letter skills, I really wouldn't mind a little deus ex machina.
If you wish to correspond with me if, say, you want to compliment me on my phat web stylings; denounce my now not-so-subversive political views; or, like I said, offer me a job feel free to e-mail me at bsnowden@infoplease.com or ben_snowden@yahoo.com. Whichever you like
it all goes to Willis.
If you'd like to see something slightly more intimate, feel free to check out The 7 Ages of Ben, a brief photographic retrospective of my life. Or some things I've written.
More stuff will follow, in the goodness of time...
