WHAT EXACTLY DOES THE MINSTRELS' GUILDE DO?

1. The minstrels' guilde is responsible for the music of the shire. We play for the queen and her court - for dancing and for general background filler music, for the local townsfolke - country dancing, maypoles, etc. We also will be doing some recorder consort music. We do have other instrumentation besides recorder, but the music is arranged, for now, for harmony and melody recorders. We can add and rearrange for other instruments.
Aside from the music aspect, we are known as the town theives. We are the scum of the shire. We need to be loud. We need to be OVERopinionated. We need to be smooth. We need to attract a lot of attention. We're competing with actors. We want money, and we want lots of it. We do whatever it is we need to do to have fun, get money, and eat. We like to have fun. We like to cause trouble. This is our responsbility.

WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR?

2. This is generally your time to show off what you want. The best garb, however, shows your character. It is a part of who you are. If reflects what you do in life, how you feel about things, etc. As theives, we have a lot of variety in what we can wear, however, just wearing the typical "I fit in with everyone else" clothes may not be appropriate. Think about who your character is. What does s/he want in life? What does s/he think about? How does s/he feel about personal appearance? status? etc...This should be reflected in your clothing. We are of lower class. We ride the fence between REALLY high low class and REALLY low middle class. Play with your garb, and have fun letting it show off your character.
