A Day Like this One

                                    For Anthony

Once when I was younger

I didnt see the world

The sky was just an empty shell

filled with dying stars

It was a day like this one, as a matter of fact.

What a waste of a beautiful Day.

Once when I was bitter

I didnt see myself

My eyes were dead, my spirit gone

My life hidden deep in my sorrow

And it was a day like this one, as a matter of fact.

What a waste of a beautiful girl.

Once when I was blind

I didnt see the world

Its surface was just a hopeless place

Its bleakness overwhelming

And it was a day like this one, as a matter of fact.

What a waste of a beautiful home.

Once when I was lost

I didnt see you there

Too wrapped up in my own pain

Your dreams, they found me there

And it was a day like this one, as a matter of fact.

It was a beautiful day, indeed.
