Talisman For A Journey

To be sped on your way with winged heels, also to be kept safe the while from all distress and accident, you must cover a new silver coin with fluid Quicksilver: this well-spread, smoothed over all the surface until the two are bound and the coin shines extremely. Then with these words embellish a square of white cloth:

AREGENTUM VIVUM, CLIPEUS ORNATUS, ARGENTUM SIGNATUM,

MERGURIUS ARGENTEUS, TEGE, TEGE, TEGE.

Wrap the coin closely in the cloth, and tie it up with red thread. Carry this with you wherever you travel, but take care not to unfold the cloth nor look upon the coin again - lest you should break the entchantment, thus to find only a gray relic where the twice shinning silver lay hidden.
