THE STORM

The wind was wild and furious, they struggled more and more
With everything within them they tried to reach the shore
The storm had come so suddenly, as often they had done
The clouds so black and thick had blotted out the sun.

They felt so very helpless as they struggled on and on
It must have seemed to them that every hope was gone
As if things weren't bad enough, as they looked across the sea
The sight they saw standing there made them fearful as could be.

They thought it was a spirit, it filled their hearts with care
But then they heard a gentle voice telling them to have no fear
The figure it was Jesus Christ, He was walking on top of the sea
They knew that things would be fine, it was their Master from Galilee.

When Jesus climbed into the boat, the sea became so still
Even the wind, like everything else, surrendered to His will
The fear they felt soon left them as with joy they greeted Him
Their boat became a better place when Jesus entered in.

Are there storms within your life that seem so very fierce
Are there sorrows in your heart, does it feel your soul is pierced
Do you feel the waves o'er flow you and the fierce winds blow
If you do, just trust in Jesus, the one who loves you so.

(Mark 6:47-51)
